Pfeffernusse and a new kitty

This is time of year for holiday baking, and one of our traditions is to make pfeffernusse. Over the years I have figured out some good tips, mainly don't try to make it all at once. I chill the dough in balls and just pull one out a day since they each take at least a half hour to do. But they are good! It obviously takes longer with a two-year-old helper...or less since she sneaks some dough while I'm not looking.
Also, when we went to the station the other night Steven gave Emma a new kitty, which she is practically attached to now. They had fun playing at the station.
I usually use a thimble to cut them out...but I couldn't find one so I improvised.
It's good!
I thought I would give her dough to roll, but she ate it instead.
Ready to bake!
Apparently this is what Emma did while I was finishing.
New Kitty!
Playing with Daddy under the tables at the station.
Apparently you can play night-night anywhere.
She was much too excited to eat.
I told her to smile.
Just chillin with kitty.
This is what they were doing this morning.  Emma enjoys watching Daddy play..he jumps and sometimes waves to her on the game.
