Monday we got our tree up, but we have been so busy this week, along with Emma's monster naps, we didn't decorate it until Thursday night. This is one of those things that seemed like a good idea at the time, but afterward I was regretting it. NOTE: If you have a two-year-old, leave the tree bare. Better yet, just get a 2-D tree and tape it on the wall, and use stickers for ornaments or something. Putting up the lights started out fun, but then half of them were dead, and the ornaments....oh the ornaments. Emma thought the round ones were balls she could throw...I mean it is some kind of torture to have shiny toy-like things hanging in front of a toddler that they can't touch. In the pictures they are where I put them the first night...now the bottom half of our tree has nothing but lights on it, which she tried to pull of as well. Oh well, if the tree makes it to Christmas, it will be a success. I think she is starting to get used to it, and she really loves the Christmas stuffed animals that we found. It is fun every morning as she comes down and sees the tree on with its lights. We usually set out a blanket and have a breakfast picnic sort of things on the floor in front of the tree next to the space heater, but apparently when it rains a lot, and it has been raining, A LOT, ants take over the houses. Gross. We woke up this morning and discovered there were ants everywhere, all over the house, even the stairs and in Emma's room. Someone at chapel told me this happens every year when it rains a lot. Yay.
