Christmas presents

Emma loved Christmas this year. It was so much fun to watch her open everything. We opened our presents in the morning and then with Grandma and Grandpa Bency in the afternoon and the Roses a little later. She got crazier as the day went on. You can tell in the video where she opened the presents from Grampy Loha and she was pretty calm, since that was in the morning. But once she kept opening stuff she got a little crazy. I took lots of videos, so enjoy!
Bicycle! She wanted to help Daddy put it together.
Dolly can ride, Emma stands, Daddy pushes.
Oops, I thought we were opening ALL the presents.
Making play dough snowmen.
Emma really liked the play dough.
She kept trying to to take its scarf and hat on and off.

We also got her gel clings, which she loved literally to death.
We tried riding outside, but it was too cold and windy.
She also enjoyed the box that the bike came in.....Where's Emma?
There she is!

Gingerbread house

The Sarurday our plans got changed, so we had some extra time on our hands. I thought it would be fun to try and build a gingerbread house. We had lots of fun...although we are not very experienced so our house looks like a storm came through. Also Emma did way too much eating and was crazy for the next few hours.
Getting ready!
Daddy showing Emma how to decorate.
Emma decorating a wall
Daddy decorating
Smile!
All done...see a storm blew through and knocked our tree down and some shingles, too.
Emma enjoyed eating the decorations the most, I think.

All done!
That strong wind came through again!

New booster seat

We We Emma seems to be outgrowing her high chair, so we got her a booster seat. We still have to use a book since she is so little, but she likes it. We have found lots of ways to use it. She has been joking putting dolly in her old chair.

Happy birthday, Jesus!

For MTOC today we had a birthday party for Jesus...bouncy house included. Really we just ate and the kids ran around being crazy. While the big kids were doing the cake, Emma took her chance in the bouncy house...she had been eyeing it, but was too scared while all the other kids were in it.

Pfeffernusse and a new kitty

This is time of year for holiday baking, and one of our traditions is to make pfeffernusse. Over the years I have figured out some good tips, mainly don't try to make it all at once. I chill the dough in balls and just pull one out a day since they each take at least a half hour to do. But they are good! It obviously takes longer with a two-year-old helper...or less since she sneaks some dough while I'm not looking.
Also, when we went to the station the other night Steven gave Emma a new kitty, which she is practically attached to now. They had fun playing at the station.
I usually use a thimble to cut them out...but I couldn't find one so I improvised.
It's good!
I thought I would give her dough to roll, but she ate it instead.
Ready to bake!
Apparently this is what Emma did while I was finishing.
New Kitty!
Playing with Daddy under the tables at the station.
Apparently you can play night-night anywhere.
She was much too excited to eat.
I told her to smile.
Just chillin with kitty.
This is what they were doing this morning.  Emma enjoys watching Daddy play..he jumps and sometimes waves to her on the game.
