Calm-ish before the storm

Tomorrow VBS starts. I'm excited...I really do love VBS. but I'm already exhausted. We did try to relax this weekend, but apparently we still need to do less. Friday I needed to get some work done on the van, and some kids from Emma's class were going to Wacky Tacky, an indoor play place. So one of our friends was able to pick us up at the car place and take us with them, it worked out great. Saturday was cleaning day. Emma is such a great helper. She started cleaning the night before. She makes cleaning day much more fun. We put the VBS music on and had it done in no time. Except for going for a run and to the commissary, we stayed home all day. It made me realize how busy we have been. All of our days used to be like that, but now those calm, home days are few and far between. Maybe after VBS we can have more of them. Today we made  a quick trip into Roseville to get me some new running shoes, as mine were apparently WAY past due. Next time I won't wait so long to get new ones. Then we came back to base and helped set up for VBS... so much for relaxing.

Enjoying our strange, mild weather. We even had an almost thunderstorm today. High of 66!

New shoes! I put these on and immediately realized I should have gotten new shoes a long time ago. Felt like walking on air. Hopefully running won't take as much out of me now. I think this may have been part of my problem.

As we got home from decorating from VBS, Ada's dad asked if we wanted some steak, as he bought too much. YES, in fact, I do. I was exhausted, and very glad to have such good neighbors. He brought this over later, it may take me all week to finish it, but at least I don't have to cook.
