Do you wanna build a snowman?

Earlier this week we decided to go find snow. Emma does not remember ever seeing it, so we wanted to go before Steven left. We weren't sure where to go or how long it would take, but we left this morning (Saturday) around 8 and headed up. We stopped for breakfast in Grass Valley at "Uncle Donald's," as Emma calls it. Then we headed up highway 20 past Nevada City towards Tahoe. We had been told to just go 10 minutes past Nevada City to find snow, and they were right. Once you hit a certain elevation, and with all the tree cover, there was lots of snow. We stopped at a turn around spot, but just parked and got out to play and explore. Emma thought it was great...she said it was icy and freezy. Pepper enjoyed herself too. It has been a while since she saw snow, and she loves it. For some reason it always makes her crazy.
Uncle Donalds.
Snow!
Throwing snowballs
Our first snowman, she named it 'Steven.'
She destroyed it, just like play dough.
Oh Pepper.

Silly, happy dog.
Chasing Daddy.
She caught him.
Daddy's turn.
Building another snowman.

This one she named, "Hope." Creative girl.
I let it borrow my belt and hood.
Cheese! She got all wet and cold...but we brought a change of clothes and a blanket.
Walkin' with Daddy in the snow and big, tall trees.

  1. I love Steven the Snowman! Icy and Freezy is a great description of snow! I love Emma's creativity - maybe you have a writer on your hands. LOL
