Daddy’s lady got switched to Wednesday, so he had 3 days off this week. Today we went to Showa Park, a VERY large park in Japan, not far from us. Think Central Park/botanical garden. You have to pay to get in, but it is very well maintained. This is not the best time of year to go, because all the flowers have mostly died. But we paddle boated around a lake/pond, and found a pretty fun park to play at. There were also very few people there today. Japan’s schools are still on season...which is too bad because it was hot and humid today and it looked like they have a fabulous pool and splash pad. But it was nice to walk around and not be crowded. You can drive there, since it’s not too far, but we took the train. In fact, we walked to the train station from base. Steven did this with a friend this weekend, but I don’t think it was so hot...and he didn’t have a 5 year old with him. I don’t think we will walk that far again. But taking the train was fun. And Showa Park was fun. We ended up at Chili’s for dinner because they stopped traffic going over the flight line for a while because the fighter jets were headed back to Okinawa after the typhoon had gone. Long day, but good fun.
All ready! Thankfully she took off her jacket...and wore socks.
She was excited to have her on card for the train.
Riding the train. It wasn’t busy when we left, but it was when we came back.
Paddle boating. No life jackets. Emma got to sit in between us.
Which meant she got to drive. She kept saying that this was the first time she ever got to drive anything. Paddle boating was hard work for us, definitely a leg workout. Steven think they are made for shorter people. ;)
The fish and ducks kept coming up to us. I assume the Japanese feed them, but we didn’t.
They had a great playground. This was a giant bouncy thing.
Ready, set, bounce!
She thought this was great! So did the other parents and kids.
Giant slide.
I went down it a couple times. Steven did it a lot with her. It’s fast!!!
