Grace and Andrew's wedding

Saturday we all had our schedules : finishing up last minute details, cutting up fruit for the reception, doing hair and makeup. We started off the day with a big family breakfast, then we got to work. I cut up 8 pounds of strawberries, and then Emma went to lunch and fed the 'gooses' with Grandma Connie while I got my hair done. We got home and got ready...I curled Emma's hair for the first time. Then we headed to the church. Faith did Grace's hair, and they were finishing up when we arrived. The ceremony was beautiful. Emma was a little more unsure as a flower girl with all the people watching, but we made it down the isle. Afterwards we took lots of pictures, and it was nice to have our cousin, Michael, as the photographer.
( I can't wait to see all of his pictures; he especially got a few good ones of Emma. I took some for the blog and to send to  Steven.) Then they cut the cake, with a sword...Sting, from LOTR, for those who know the movies. Then they had the receiving line and their first dances. Everyone had a great time, and Faith and her friend, Alan, stole the show on the dance floor. Emma loved watching them. With no nap and lots of strange people, then having to behave at dinner time for pictures, and loud music, Emma was not feeling the reception for a while. But she found some friends to dance with, and the bride and groom and Faith and Alan came out to the lobby to dance with her, where it was quieter. After that she caught a second wind and pulled Faith, then Grandma Joy out to the dance floor, and danced until the music ended. She also helped us clean up, and carried all the little plants up the stairs. She was quite a trooper the whole night. Grace and Andrew both seemed to enjoy themselves, and even fairly relaxed. I wish I had a picture of Tory, hiding from all the people in the bridal room, just like when she was 9, the flower girl at our wedding. My dad's lights were all fabulous, and it was so nice to see so many from his family there. We were all exhausted that evening after cleaning up...just beginning to realize how tired our feet were. Oh...and Emma was very tired and apparently thought she needed even more help staying awake...she pulled the fire alarm.  My dad turned it off, but the FD still has to come. So we gave them the rest of the cake.

Grace made Emma and her dolly matching scarves.

Faith did Grace's hair
All ready! And then she decided she didn't want her flower crown...a result of being tired I think.

Emma wanted to wear Grace's dress.
Almost ready!
Emma loved watching her.
All ready!
After the ceremony, having to be good for pictures was almost too much to handle.
Michael took one of these, I can't wait to see his...I was the flower girl for his mom and dad's wedding, and had a picture just like this with his mom. :)
Emma and Miranda, whose mom, Darlene, was our good friend growing up.
They had great fun!
She just wanted to dance with Aunt Grace.
Dancing with the bride in the lobby.
Faith and Alan were impressive, Emma couldn't stop watching them...they did their best to not step on her.

About how we all feel today.

I think we might have a few more pictures...but I will post them later. Now, it's time for bed!
