Silly Emma

Emma is silly...and exhausting. I put her down for a nap today after she dumped salt all over the couch and carpet...after I have been vacuuming like crazy trying to get rid of the ants. I know I am tired too, as we have been pretty busy lately and our sleeping has been off. Anyway, the last couple days we tried to relax, as if this possible with a two-year-old, but we succeeded at least part of the time. We rearranged the back patio again so she could play out there...its a nice area for her. :) She has been eating like crazy the last few days which is nice. Although don't let her get tired and hungry...its not pretty. Yesterday was rough...took me an hour to put her to sleep only for her to wake up after 45 minutes crying inconsolably. When I was putting her down she gave every excuse she could think of..."I want Daddy. I want Pepper. I need socks. ( she was wearing slippers) I want a drink. I want to play. I want a snack. I want my dollies. I'm not tired." On and on. It became humorous to me after she started begging for the dog. Oh and every time she walks outside, she exclaims, "it's summer!"
Accessorizing her towel.
She said she was going running...in her jammies.
She found Daddy's old goggles.
Making banana muffins with Mom.
Pepper is such a good sport...half the time Emma is bossing her around or torturing her like this, the other half Emmais sneaking her food.

Patio time

Since Steven rearranged and cleaned our patio last week, we have been enjoying spending more time out there. Emma can play, and brought her back flower for us to look at.
"We're chilling"
I had to bring out her doll so she would stop torturing the dog who she was trying to play with.
Trying to find a good spot to eat her breakfast.
The rope is so she can't slide through the bars. Now she can play out here by herself if she wants.
Emma's flowers.

Running and eating

Check out my running buddies!
Yes, Emma has a jacket on...it was a chilly 61 when we left. Pepper says please stop taking pictures so we can go. She may have gotten a squirrel on our run.
Today was apparently an eating day. This kid had 5 strawberries, applesauce, 2 scrambled eggs, and some toast...and that was just lunch...at 10am. Guess that happens when you wake up so early. And yes that is a lot for Emma...she mostly eats like a bird.

Busy Saturday

Today Emma and I were very busy...we ran, skyped, went to Walmart and the Commissary, 'planted' flowers, made applesauce and now she is sleeping. Later we are taking steak to the fire station for dinner. Pretty good day...especially since we got all that done before it got too hot.
Showing you 'her' flower. I tried to move it and she put it back there. She carried it from the back so it could be with the other flowers.
We didn't want to drive forever JUST for organic apples, but I wanted to make applesauce for Emma since she is having trouble eating her fruits and veggies. (Ever since we got home she chews them and then spits them back out. It's gross.) So we just peeled normal apples and next time we are in town we will get the good ones. Hopefully it's good!

Going to the doctor

Thankfully, Emma hasn't been sick much. However, she needed a checkup before she got her dental work done. So I kept her up to go to her 1:40 appointment which was apparently not until 2:40. So I got her a muffin while I filled out a ton of paperwork. We ended up being at the doctors office for over two hours. She did really good, too, especially considering she didn't get a nap. The only thing she didn't like was when the doctor tried to clean the wax out of her ear...and being weighed and measured was a little scary. But mostly she did great. She weighs 24.8 pounds (4%) and I think she is 34.5 inches tall (7%). She is a healthy, smart girl. And silly, very silly. After the doctor we went to the pool and then I put her to bed early.
Eating her muffin
Buzz and Woody!
Sad face
Going night night
Trying to get a pulse on both fingers.
Her only nap was on the way home
Does it look good?
She had this on with her swimming suit...wish I had gotten a picture of it!

Toddler bed part two

We went to dance class and the pool this evening. We came home, ate dinner, did some Highlights puzzles and then went to bed. She seemed to enjoy her big girl bed much more this evening. And I gave her two teddy bears, so her hands were full and she didn't even ask for a binky after we went upstairs.
They got tired of me making them smile.

Toddler bed

To prevent this:
We did this:
But the result was this:
She wasn't super excited about it, but she was very tired. She kept asking to pull it up...the half where there is nothing.  Oh and we also threw away her very last binkys today. Hopefully she sleeps better tonight!

Swimming and sleeping

Yesterday Steven cleaned the back patio...we think Pepper was really getting excited about a mouse, not a lizard. So he cleaned it up so they would go away. So far it seems to have worked. Emma found this a good opportunity to play in her pool...at 10:30am...I guess a perk of living in a hot place. She had fun with her new toys. And while she seems to be a little better, she is still having some troubles. I tried 3 times to put her down for a nap, but this is eventually how she fell asleep. Maybe we need to put up her toddler rail so she can climb in to bed when she is tired.
Yes she picked her own bows
We went to the pool on Sunday.
Emma played with other little girl for a while.
And yes she picked out these clothes.

Park and pool

Emma has been much better today...maybe she gets bored with just me. She has much more fun when Daddy is home. It has been so hot that we have been trying to get our run out of the way early...today we left at 6:45 andhad our  whole workout done before Steven came home. We tried to go to the park around 10 but the slides were already hot, so we came home and skyped with Aunt Grace. Emma misses her family, and wanted to look in everyone's room, even though they weren't there. After Daddy's workout we headed to the pool. I took lots of pictures. Emma was so worn out she fell asleep on the way home, and is currently 'laying in her bed for a while.' After the last couple days I will be surprised if she doesn't take a nap. She sure needs it. But she has been much happier today. :)
