Playing at the Park, Roseville edition

We have been to two parks so far in Roseville. They have both been very nice, although the first one didn't allow dogs, so Pepper couldn't enjoy all the nice green grass. The one we found today was very nice, and Pepper loved it, too.
Emma had trouble walking in the grass because it was so thick.

Chili, movies, and general silliness

We are in our hotel room in Roseville, CA. We moved here a couple days ago, but we have been exhausted. I can't wait until we finally get into a house and can stop unpacking and repacking all of our stuff. This room is nice, it has two separate rooms and a kitchenette. It will be interesting cooking though, as we only have a microwave and a stove top (no oven). Thankfully the hotel provides dinner 3 nights a week for free, and a pretty good breakfast every morning. We have had a little fun exploring the area...the Roseville/Rocklin area is very nice...for rich people. But we are enjoying their parks, nice green grass and lots of good restaurants and shopping. This place is 30-45 minutes from base, but it will probably take Steven an hour to get to work from here. He doesn't have to go in to work until next Friday.
These pictures are miscellaneous from the last few days.

Pajamas at the park

This morning Emma woke up a little after 6, which is typical since we got here. It gets light out pretty early, and with the time change, that is just when she gets up. So we ate breakfast and then she and I snuggled on the couch for about and hour, until she decided she wanted to play. Then Daddy came down and they went outside. Apparently Pepper went out too, because I heard Steven call my name to come get the dog. Emma called my name, too. "Hope!" she said. I looked at her funny and said, "Um, my name is Mom." She thought it was funny. Then Daddy taught her how to spit. (Daddy teaches Emma how to do lots of things.) And the left for the park. So I got ready for the day, and Pepper pestered me until we left for the park, too. Apparently they just walked there, Emma in her pajamas and everything...although she did have a bow and shoes on. What a fun start to our morning. :)

Running to play!

She is becoming a pro at climbing.

Beale AFB, CA...or KS

So when we got to base, we came in the main gate....then drove like 5 miles to the lodging office. 5 miles of just farmland, cows grazing and everything. Then we had to drive another 5 miles to get to our room. Living on this base is like living in the country. So I thought I would post some pictures. They have designated hunting grounds, 2 lakes for fishing and lots and lots of trails and wide open space. They have 5 gates because it takes so long to get anywhere, and it makes it much easier to get to outlying areas that way. Even living on base, it takes Steven probably 20+ minutes to get to the fire station...mostly driving 50mph. And after driving around FOREVER just to look at 3 houses that we didn't even like once we got there, we decided to just wait on base housing. We will have to live in a hotel off base for a little over a month until we can get a house. For those who come to visit there is good shopping about a half hour away and who knows what else we will discover to do around here.
Don't know if you can see, but there are mountains back there.

Typical view of base.

Silly girl

Just a few of our silly girl playing...and pooping. ;)
I just couldn't resist taking some pooping pictures.

Pretty sure these will be good when she is older. :)

So I found my camera, and you are about to get a lot of pictures! I think it will take me like 4 blogs to get them all, so I hope you enjoy them! These first few are just Emma and Daddy. :)

Hiding in the cabinets

Emma has been a little bored here in TLF, and clingy. She can't really go outside bc there is no closed off space and the steps are too big for her to do by herself. So she gets a little bored...and therefore creative with her playing. So far we have done lots of chasing her around the house, hiding in tents, and now, playing in the cabinet. She also 'reads' to herself, brings me books so I can read with her (as opposed to reading to her), snuggles a lot, and we try to go for lots of walks. She is getting so big and so smart...and ornery. She says all kinds of words, and sentences we think. If only we could understand them. Sometimes we can make out a word and we get really excited. Some of the things we can understand include, "I frew (threw) it!"(Usually about her binky), I do it!, movie, Elsa (from frozen), eat (when she is hungry), sorry, oh, um (when you ask her a question), think think (when some electronic thing is taking too long), choc (chocolate), and hit (she got in trouble for hitting so she now knows very well what that is and that it is bad). That is all I can think of right now. She loves anything to do with Frozen, and is getting more adventurous in her climbing. She still pulls down her pants/diaper fairly often, although not as much as before.
And for another fun story, yesterday we took Pepper for a walk and let her run free since there are so many wide open spaces of empty field here. She loved it, was jumping all around until she jumped hard into a concrete ditch. Pretty sure Steven thought he killed her, she was bleeding for her nose and mouth and could barely make it up to the sidewalk where we were.  She seems to be fine now, but we think it set off a seizure and that she got a concussion. We will be more careful where we let her explore next time.

Hungry?

Emma is eating butter with her fingers in this picture. I know the doctor wants her to gain weight, but I'm not really sure this is the best way. But I was making dinner and she was hungry and sitting on the counter, so that's what she grabbed. Oh well. I took it for her after I took the picture. What a silly girl.
