Muffins with Mom

We had several old bananas, and so we decided to make banana muffins to have as snacks for our trip. Emma was helping me. Apparently she was too hungry to wait for the muffins, she started snacking on the bananas before I mashed them.

Watching movies

Emma has gotten to watch a couple extra movies lately, since we are busy getting ready to move. Here she is yesterday chillin out, watching Frozen.
This one has nothing to do with movies, but just Emma pulling her pants down, yet again.

Just chillin'

Emma was layin' around, taking a break from being crazy yesterday. It must be exhausting to have to get out all that energy.

Never boring

Things are really starting to get busy around here...the movers are apparently coming next Monday, so that moves up our schedule a day...which means we have a lot to do! Emma was apparently trying to help this morning...as I was cleaning the kitchen, she took two plastic bags outside and began picking up Pepper's (dried up) poop that was in the yard. I usually pick it up every few days, but I have been busy and haven't gotten to it in a week or so. Emma decided she was going to help. When I went out to check on her she had a few days worth of poop in a bag and was upset because her other bag was flying away. I was like, "Oh, you are trying to help. Um, thank you, Emma. But this is really Mom's job, so let's go wash your hands." And then I promptly went out and picked up the rest. Silly girl, she just wants to help. When we went in she decided she needed to go potty. She has been pulling her pants down a lot lately, and apparently she want to go potty like a big girl. I let her do it a few times this morning, but nothing came of it. But she was very excited to try, she kept going back to pull her pants down and sit on the potty over and over again. It's like a new thing to do now. Anyway, here are some pictures from our last few days.
This is Emma's spot to sit while I make smoothies
We make smoothies a lot after naps.

Firefighters Ball

Well last night was the Firefighter's Ball, and we were the best-dressed people there...literally, we were way over dressed. On the tickets it said it was "West Texas Casual, wear your cowboy boots!" So I said, "they always say that, and people always dress up." Steven didn't think so, he was going to wear his cowboy boots, but he dressed up anyway. And let this be a lesson to me, I should have listened. We were way over dressed. Everyone really was in jeans and cowboy boots. I just figured, it's a 'ball,' and that people always dress up for this...it used to be a semi-formal event, but they changed it last year when we didn't go because Steven was deployed. Oh well, it's over, and I survived.
Anyway, Emma had a great time with the babysitter, they even skyped with Aunt Grace.  And after last night I think I am finally ready to move. I told Steven that it was fun when we used to help set these things up and put them on. Then it was fun to watch people do it after us since we knew what went into it. But now I am just bored...many of our friends have left and we mostly know all the civilians, who are beginning to retire. And the event last night didn't seem as special either....little things kept going wrong, and while I partly blame the casual atmosphere, it just didn't seem like it was the event it used to be. Oh well. It was our last one. Now we have less than two weeks until we head off for California. Let the fun begin!

Emma spinning

I don't know what happened, maybe someone is slipping Emma some energy drinks at night, but she seems to have found some more energy and doesn't know what to do with it...except to be crazy. I am thinking that we need to structure her a little more...like at Goodyear this morning she was just running around like a wild child until she disobeyed me a second time and I made her sit in my lap the rest of the time. (We were there for an hour.) She did ok when she realized she had to sit in my lap...but of course she tried doing crazy things like hitting me and kicking until I distracted her with singing songs and saying animal sounds. She was fine as long as she had something to do, but if she was left to herself she was basically crazy, which often gets her in trouble or hurt. Oh well, I suppose this is a new phase and we will adjust. In this video she is spinning, something she has started doing regularly with all of her new-found energy/lack of nap time.

Silliness

Daddy, I'm watching a movie...can't this raspberry wait?

We kept hearing, "uh-oh" outside, this is what I found.
She was sitting in a hole that Pepper dug.
