Pajama Day

Emma had pajama day at school today.

They were allowed to bring a blanket/robe and a stuffed animal.

She also had fun because Daddy went to her class and read books to the them. Apparently they had also read a firefighter book, so I think he talked about that, too. ๐Ÿ˜

She was still hungry after dinner, so she got out her cookbook and made herself (and Daddy) a snack.

Crazy hair day

Today was crazy hair/hat day.

This picture isn’t the greatest and it was after school when she had taken the pipe cleaner out that was sticking up. There are also pipe cleaners in the side braid. She didn’t want me to stick them up in the air.

Having crazy hair day with Chelsea. Daddy is working a 24 today, but they had a call nearby so he stopped in to say goodnight. He came right before she came out all matching with Chelsea. ๐Ÿ˜ŠTomorrow is pajama day. So you may get a similar picture.

Play dough, and the Cat in the Hat!

This weekend Paris and Emma made playdiugh fruit. It looked good enough to eat! This week is Dr. Seuss’s birthday...aka another reason for the kids to part and play at school. Everyday is a different theme, and they are also trying to get the kids excited about reading. Today it was dress like your favorite Dr. Seuss character. Emma loves Cat in the Hat, it’s actually a show on netflix with Martin Short. We ordered at hat since I am a Pinterest Fail Mom...and she would grow out of most other outfits. Everything else we came up with this morning. Turned out pretty good!

Our very own cat in the hat! There were 3 others dressed the same in her class. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Daddy brought home hyacinths. I love the colors!

Back to normal

Grandma and Grandpa left this morning, so we are getting back to normal. Paris is here, painting and playing legos.

Happy birthday Grandma Connie!

The Bency’s last day happens to be Connie’s birthday. They were  exhausted from their trip, so we just stayed home and had lots of yummy food and relaxing. The weather was nice though...66 degrees!

We had mini Oreo cheesecake!

If you look closely you can see the car earring she got Grandma.

Tokyo day 2

The first trip into Tokyo was pretty exhausting for Emma, even though she did pretty good. We decided it might be better for her to go to school and be in her routine while Steven took his parents to Tokyo so they could fit more in. I stayed home, but Steven sent me a couple pictures. They went to an owl museum, a brewery for lunch, a Shrine sale, and the Tokyo Sky Tree. I think they were all exhausted when they got back.

Fuji

Tuesday was supposed to be sunny, so we went to see Fuji. First we went to the pagoda to take pictures at a famous spot. Then we headed to the lake, which was beautiful and we will definitely need to go back when things are in bloom.

467 steps to get up!

Emma was dying to take our picture.

At the lake

The gift shop had great strawberry ice cream!

Tea House

Saturday Steven had to work, so the rest of us went to the Tea House. It is soo close to being springlike here...so we sat outside on the patio with blankets on our laps.

Relaxing at home

Being a tourist will wear you out. So we were always glad to have ‘home days,’ or any chance to relax at home.

Eating leftover pizza and watching baking shows after a long day in Tokyo.

Making chocolate muffins.

Seriously this girl would not lose! She won 7 games in a  row!

Day in Tokyo

We technically live in Tokyo, but it takes forever to get around and there are a million things to see. Last Friday we set out to explore. Steven had found a yakiniku place (whee you grill your own meat) in Tachikawa for lunch, so we all set out on an adventure! We finally found and ordered food, normal food. I should have take a picture of the menu. We could have had womb or intestines! But we opted for tongue, and normal things like skirt steak and sirloin and veggies. The portions ended up being small and expensive, so after we apparently finished our meal, we went to McDonalds to ‘fill up.’ It was a fun experience, and it did taste good.

Grandma and Grandpa’s first train ride...we all had seats!

Emma was not a fan of the yakiniku.

After lunch we headed to Shinjuku to the Samurai Museum. It was great fun and we all enjoyed ourselves. There was an English guided tour which was interactive and very interesting. It kept us moving pretty quickly, so we did not get bored. They even let Steven try on a helmet, and then they had a sword demonstration. Afterwards we all tried on costumes for pictures.

A commoner ‘s armor.

Darth Vader was designed from this one.

Samurai demo.

We had to have help with our kimonos. Apparently there is a wrong way to wear it. It is tucked in on one side depending on if you are dead or alive. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Daddy was having too much fun to make a scary face.

Emma wanted to be a tour guide.

Then we headed further into Tokyo, to Harajuku, where it quickly became evident that Emma was nearing the end of her rope. We got a rainbow crepe and headed home on the most crowded train we have ever been on...we almost didn’t all fit! But we made it.

Godzilla!

What she was waiting for!

Yum.

Crazy girl on the ride home. This is just a face...Japanese trains are quiet.
