So many of my friends live right next to each other, which happens to be a couple houses down from where Delilah lives. Last night we went to Alhanna’s house for a surprise party for Bridget, who lives next door. It was so fun, just the neighbors and us and all our kids...who had never been to a surprise party before. It was fun to make the kids hide and say surprise...although Emma confessed she didn’t say surprise because she was eating a bread stick...one of five she apparently had last night. (They were small.) It was an Italian themed party, and Alhanna is always a wonderful hostess, as she loves decorating and baking. We had Italian food from a local restaurant, and a Alabama made a cannoli cheesecake and an Italian olive oil cake...which was fabulous! After dinner we did the piñata...even the adults got to have a turn! It was so fun. The kids played and played...and we just chatted and laughed. After a long day it was nice to have fun with friends. We didn’t get home until late...I’m sure one of these days we won’t be tired? At least it was a 3 day weekend!
Emma was the only girl, and they told the boys, “ladies first!”
She only wanted one turn, but that’s better than normal!
It was so much fun to have the ‘mommies and daddies’ get turns, too. Although the others were pulling the string the whole time so you never knew where it was.
Candy!
Singing happy birthday! The kids finally got to eat cake! They asked for it all evening!
Holly, me, Bridget, Alhanna, Darlene. Holly and Darlene are both due in the next couple weeks. (Also, this Holly is not Delilah’s mom, but they do live next door.)
