Holiday weekend

We did lots of fun things this weekend, and may have gotten too worn out. We celebrated Daddy's 30th birthday via Skype, went to Sophie's birthday party after cleaning all day Saturday, and finally went to th pool on Sunday. Today we played games and ended up doing a little shopping, since Steven sent Emma some money to buy a toy.
Eating cupcakes with Daddy. We celebrated a day early, since it was his birthday in Korea.
This is my four year old separating eggs to make Eggs Benedict. She loves to separate eggs...she does it even when we need the whole egg.
Our Eggs Benedict turned out great minus the amount of lemon juice called for in the recipe for the hollandaise sauce. Next time we won't put so much in. The rest of it was great.
The kids all loved this!
There was an obstacle course inside the body.
She took a shower! She was so proud of herself, she wants to take them all the time now.
Riding her bike at the track this morning. This always seems like a good idea. But I have a 'stop and smell the flowers, and pick them, and give them all to mom' kind of girl. So it never works out like I imagine. She is good for a lap, maybe two, but gets bored after that.
This is what she bought with her money from Daddy, a unicorn keychain and ice cream. She has been wanting this keychain thing for a while.
We stopped at Freebirds on the way home for dinner.
And the she came home and dressed up her unicorn.

Fun-filled Day

The last few months have been a little crazy, with me working a few hours a week, and dealing with Pepper. But we are finally settling into a good routine and today I had TIME. I didn't have a lot of pressing things to do, so while Emma was at preschool, I had my quiet time and I read. Then I picked her up and we went to Panera for lunch. We wanted to take Pepper's stuff to donate, but the place didn't open for a hour so we found a park to play in the mean time. After the park, we drove back, but they couldn't take most of our stuff. :( So we just left and went to Baskin Robbins for some ice cream. Then we came home and painted our nails with our new natural nail polish. It was a good, relaxing day.
Some friends we know on base are adopting a little girl with Down's syndrome from China, and this shirt was one of their fundraisers.
Cheese! With her eyes closed. We had lunch outside. And it was sort of chilly and windy today. But it will be hit again soon.
Fun at the park.

Pink ice cream, chocolate cone with sprinkles.
It was good.
We liked our new nail polish, and especially the new remover...it didn't smell bad at all!
I may have let her paint a couple of my toes.

Catching up!

Well apparently I have forgotten to blog for a few days! So prepare for a random assortment of pictures.
Thank you Grandma Joy and Papa Steve for the flowers!
Cleaning up a spill. I told her to be like Cinderella and sing while she did it. ;)
Last few weeks as a Cubbie. :(
And her eyes are closed...but the kids love to stay and play after school.
We stopped by the Seafood and Jazz Festival  on the way home from an errand. I thought we would stay for a little bit...we left after 2.5 hours. She is really starting to enjoy these events.
She keeps going on things that used to scare her. I'm glad we kept trying these things out and that she is finally liking them.
They had a tent with sidewalk chalk.
And one for crafts.
And this monster pirate ship slide thing. She loved this!
Ignore the dandelions, we found a snake outside on Saturday. We called the FD but they were no help. But on Sunday I showed this picture to someone who said it wasn't poisonous. Hopefully they are right!
Reading under a tent.
We helped do some painting for VBS on Sunday, but came home exhausted. She fell asleep on the carpet when we came home.
We have also gone to Raelynn and Michelle's and Owen's house for dinner this week, but I forgot to take pictures.

Normal Tuesday

Today has been a surprisingly relaxing, normal day. We have been so busy the last month it's weird that I have nothing to do and no where to be/go. (Although there are technically always things I have to do, nothing is urgent today.) I even got off work early this morning with enough time for a run...which wasn't really very much fun without Pepper. But then I picked up Emma and Ada from school. We all went to the commissary since we needed food, but now they are playing and I'm eating fresh homemade applesauce...mmm.

Emma has been having trouble letting me go after I drop her off at preschool. Since she wouldn't let go of me, I just tagged along to the cafeteria. They are trying to get the kids ready for kindergarten by letting them see the classrooms and letting them eat in the cafeteria like they will next year.
Pretty sure she will love kindergarten because of chocolate milk and marshmallows in her cereal. Which is why I will be sending her lunch and breakfast will be at home.
The vet sent me a sympathy card for Pepper. :( We are still sad, trying to get used to her not being here. I know it was for the best, but it's still no fun.

Field Trip

Last Wednesday Emma's class went on a field trip to the Hamburger Farm, aka the Pumpkin Farm minus the pumpkins. They showed us how you grow everything you use to make a hamburger. They got to play and then eat. It was a fun day!
Whee!
Riding in the train
Bees
Wheat berries
Making flour
Tomato plants
Onions behind, cows in front. (Put onions in the freezer for 15 minutes before cutting to not cry. And buy lots of lady bugs to keep aphids away from lettuce.)
Milking a pretend cow
We dug up potatoes
Panning for marbles
Sliding
Like most of the kids, she ate her cookie and chips first.
When I came over to check on her she would make sure to take a bite of her hamburger.
And a random picture of the butterflies Daddy  sent her in her package.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all our moms! We  started our day at chapel handing out flowers to all the moms. :) we came home and skyped with our moms and then took a nap. We played Uno, read books, and watched a cooking show. We ended our day skyping with Daddy. :)
On Friday, Emma's class had s special program for parents, with cookies, gifts, bubbles and dancing. She also rubbed my back today during my bath, and cleaned up her mess in the living room. I don't know if this stage will last, but I will take it.
She opened my present for me.
Sorry this is sideways. It is a poem about how she might leave stick finger prints now, but one day I will miss them.
Bubbles!
