Last ballet class

Tonight was Emma's last ballet class here. She really enjoyed it, and learned some new things....like "Hickory hickory dock" and the "Pokey pokey." Tonight the parents got to watch...which is always crazy. My phone died in the middle :( but I think I got the best stuff. The girls were pretty crazy with all of us in there.
She has them do some of their moves on their way to see their parents.

Running buddy, toy store

Yesterday morning we took Pepper over to Landon Middle School for a run. They have a dirt track, so I don't feel bad bringing Pepper. Plus it's enclosed so Emma can run around, too. Emma even put on her running clothes.
The later we went to the Toy Store for story time. They were reading goodnight stories, and gave the kids a bedtime snack. As always, we can't just go and leave... we were there for a while.
My running buddy! She did 2 laps!
Just grilling...
Butter and yogurt and ice cream?
She loves all the doll houses.
This isn't a very good picture, but does show you a little bit of how big and fun this store is. There is more than one story, and it just seems to go on forever. Seriously, in this picture you are mostly looking at toys just for babies!

Working hard, playing in the rain.

Emma loves to help...and we love it when she is actually helpful. But really, she does make everyday chores fun...like cleaning the toilets. Grandma Connie and Papa Mike are renovating their kitchen, and of course it looks like fun to Emma. So they gave her a hammer. :) Thenshe played in the rain.
She calls the hammer her banger.

Getting wet.
So we gave her an umbrella.
Which she loved getting to actually use herself.

Weekend with family

Friday night the Roses got back from their SD vacation. They had a great time, but were ready to get home...to air conditioning! And Saturday we had a belated Father's Day dinner with the Bencys. Afterward we went for ice cream and then Emma had us try on Grandma Connie's jewelry...with pictures, of course.  It has been a good weekend filled with family.
Cleaning the toilets before everyone gets home! This is her favorite job!

Playing the kitty game with Aunt Tory.
Emma got chocolate this time!
Isn't he lovely?
Emma's favorite bracelet.
Emma's turn!
Grandma Connie had to have a turn too.

Legends

Thursday night Emma and I went to Legends in Kansas City to have dinner with Jess and Justin. It was a little cloudy, and not too hot, so we ate outside. Emma was afraid of the person in the Dino suit at the T-Rex Cafe, so it was a good thing we planned to eat at Yard House. She did like all the waterfalls, though. It was a good evening.

Emma skating

I saw that the skating rink near my parent's house was having 'Christian skate' tonight. They play Christian music and do at part of the fee to your church of choice. Emma had never been skating before, but she loved it. We didn't get there at the beginning so there weren't a lot of people there when we were skating. She was in her ballet outfit since we went right after dance class. Pretty much the cutest thing you've ever seen.
'Skating is hard,' she said, but she had fun dancing to the music with the fun lights.

Her is the link to the video I took:

Girls weekend

This weekend Emma and I had a girls weekend with Grandma Connie and Aunt Suzanne. Aunt Suzanne couldn't join us until the afternoon, but we still had fun going to garage sales and getting ice cream. For dinner we all went to Taco Via, then Emma got a new swimming suit. We went home and played with jewelry, then it was time for bed. The next morning Emma woke up early, so we headed out to get donuts. Then Grandma Connie painted Emma's nails and we headed to church. Afterwards we got some pool toys, and went to HyVee for food...and so Emma could push the little green cart again. However, in the middle of our trip she stated acting, well, not her usual self, so we took a nap after lunch. But even that didn't seem to help, so we stayed home instead of going swimming. We were a little bummed out, but it was just too much excitement for a little girl...who is already out of anything resembling a normal routine this summer. But we still had fun hanging out together, and hopefully will get to use her new swimming suit soon...and also get pictures with Sunt Suzanne as I apparently failed to do that, too.
Garage saling with Grandma Connie. Emma loves to pay for things.
She was looking for 'something for my daddy.'
Perfect little ice cream cone.
She managed to eat the whe thing without it dripping.
It was a nice treat on a hot day.
Getting donuts bright and early!
Waiting in the pink chair.
Painting nails
Yay for girl fun!

"We're friends Papa Steve!" She was very snuggly after her nap...even laid down on her bed by herself.
We watched some Say Yes to the Dress this weekend...and Emma has been obsessed with weddings/dancing lately. So she was pretending to dance with her 'prince' yesterday...I told her she better wait for Daddy to get back to ask him if she could get married. ;) but anyway, she was in a dancing mood, so she made me dance with her. Here is the link.

Happy birthday/Father's Day!

Tonight we celebrated Grandma Joy's birthday, Father's Day and Grace's birthday, since we will be scattered next week. I tried to make a brownie strawberry shortcake, but the AC is broken, so it kind of melted as I made it. I doctored it up with some whipped cream, so it looked ok. It tasted good, and that's the important part. :)
I'm not good at selfies. And Emma loved the party hats.
Double layer of brownies, filled/topped with whip topping/pudding mixture and strawberries...obviously. It was yummy!
Blowing out the candles.

Washing the van

So today in Kansas it was super hot and humid...like, there should have to be a beach nearby to be this humid. But washing Grandma and Grandpa's car is a good thing to do when it is so hot out. Emma had a blast helping me wipe down the inside and especially wash the outside. Girl loves to clean!
She loved using the hose/sprayer
She may have gotten me a time or two...usually by accident
She did good on the bottom half. :)
Rinsing the wheels
She lived the sudsy soap.

Fun filled days

Emma and I are trying to do some normal things and have donee tea fun while we are in Kansas. I try to get in a lot of shopping here because it is so close here, has way less traffic/people/stores and I often have people to watch Emma. This morning she came with me to the mall because I wanted to shop at Maurice's, my favorite store. She did pretty good, but she definitely enjoys shopping, too: jewelry, handbags, shoes, you name it, she loves it. She can be a great shopping buddy, too...she loves (almost) everything I try on. (But her favorite was definitely the escalators.)
Afterwards we had lunch and went to the pool, then had dinner with Grandma Connie and Papa Mike. She was exhausted by the time we finally got home.
She loves purses!
Zoned out watching a show, trying not to fall asleep.
