Busy Thursday

Today we took the van in for an oil change, and went to the gym while they worked on it. We came back when Emma needed a snack, and we played and looked at car magazines. Then we headed to the commissary and home for lunch and nap. We also got to open presents from Uncle Alex when Daddy got home...Emma was super excited, and it made it not seem so bad that she is still telling people Merry Christmas. After that Emma and I hurried over to 'CE Ladies Night' (Civil engineering is Stevens squadron). Many Thursday nights one of the key spouses invites wives and kids over for a potluck dinner. It's always yummy food, lots of people and Emma loves getting to play with all the other kids. To ugh she discovered handcuffs and had great fun putting them on everyone, although I think she thought they were for ouchies. She is silly.

Emma thought this red car was 'Fabulous.'
I used my new crockpot to make a cheesy bean dip.

Enjoying the weather

This week has been very nice...no rain, sunny with highs in the 60s. So we took advantage of it. Tuesday we took Pepper for a walk down the street to the creek, collecting rocks along the way to throw in the water. Then after lunch we went to a park in Lincoln with some friends to play for a couple hours. It was so nice to be outside.

The water got pretty high last week, but it's back to normal now.
Playing with Carter
It is nearly impossible to get a good picture of two 3 year olds playing at the park...they don't sit still!

They each got a cake pop after the park.

Cubbie Song

Yesterday while Skyping with Grandpa Steve, Emma sang us her Cubbie Song. I had never heard her sing it before, so I had her sing it for Daddy when he came home. Here she is:

Pink sparkly nails

Well...today has been an interesting day. We have been under a boil water alert since apparently Saturday....we found out Sunday night. Then we woke up this morning and discovered we had ants and parts of our carpets are wet from all the rain we have had...we live on top of a hill people. And then we discovered while at PWOC that there was a scheduled power outage today from 9-3 in housing. (It made PWOC interesting, too.) And since we got home late and have to take Pepper in for her laser therapy, instead of taking a nap we just painted our nails. I think we will go out for dinner, too since dinner was supposed to be in the crockpot and we have Awana tonight :)
She loved rearranging them and lining them up.

Doctor Emma

Friday Emma had a doctor appointment, just a follow-up, she is good to go now. Pepper also had one. Pepper has had this sore on her elbow for months. She has been seen twice before for it. It is hard to get to since it is surrounded by a callous/scar tissue.  It's not a problem all the time, but sometimes it gets infected and bleeds...all over the carpet. Usually we just get medicine, but this time we are trying laser therapy with the antibiotic. So she goes in every other day for just a few minutes to get it done. Hopefully it will get better, but the doctor said there really is no perfect solution. Emma likes to go to the doctor with Pepper. She pets he and tells her, "I know you are scared, but the doctor is gonna help you feel better." It's so cute. She was also pretending to be Doctor Emma while we were waiting for the vet.

She wasn't as nervous today

Going to the doctor is exhausting.
Waiting at the vet again.
We stopped by Walmart....Emma loves to ride the horse....I never put money in, she just likes to get on it.

Not a great picture, but this is today.

Head banging

I found some old videos that Steven apparently took. Apparently Emma has always been a head banger.

Cabin fever

Yesterday Emma and I went to the gym, but she did not want to come home. I think she has very much enjoyed getting out of the house the last couple days. So when I discovered that part of our dinner had gone bad, we called Daddy and asked if he would like to go out for dinner. So we did. It was nice to get out...Emma did great, and Daddy even got to get a couple of things while we were out. We don't all go out to eat much, unless it's to Chick-fil-a, and we all enjoyed it...Emma even cleaned her plate.
She did her own makeup.
Sorry this is so dark. Emma is singing into her new giant hello kitty pen from Awana. For those that don't know, I used to sing into the handle of the vacuum cleaner....to my southern gospel music, which is what she is doing.

Getting out of the house

Saturday Emma started feeling better so we took Pepper for a short walk. We were all very excited to get out of the house. And Sunday we even went to church...I'm hoping this means I can start to resume normal activities soon, but I know i still might need to be careful. But for now we are enjoying the sunshine...and today the60 degree weather.
Falling off on purpose
How a three year old does camouflage
Emma has been up late the past two nights, her tummy still bothers her sometimes. So she was watching Mario with daddy.
She sets them all up so they can see baby Jesus
Her late nights mean she is tired the next day...she fell asleep while I was doing dishes.

We are slowly going crazy....

So the medicine the doctor gave Emma is helping, but it's taking a while, so we are stuck at home for a while. We are managing to not lose our minds by playing games of Alphabet/animal Go Fish, the alphabet matching game, puzzles, reading, singing songs, naps, and this weekend watching football!! (Oh, and me being able to get out of the house even for a little helps a LOT.) We might be a little wacky though, being cooped up for so long... Here is Emma making a beard with her toilet paper:

My little photographer

I asked Emma to get my phone yesterday so we could listen to music, but instead she took a bunch of pictures. So here you go, life from Emma's point of view:
Teddy bears going night night
Everybody looking at baby Jesus
Part of Noah's Ark
Her books

Dolly and puppy
Pepper
Christmas tree, which is no longer there
And keep in mind, for every picture I posted, there were probably five or ten of the same thing, and a few of the floor.
