Happy face
Emma is feeling better. :) she went tothe doctor today with me to get allergy meds. It was very confusing as we went to the actual doctor and not the dentist, but she liked it...mostly because it was for me and not her.

JBF...the other side
Well I dropped everything off, and went shopping today. I finally got to go to the early consign or shopping...I was one of the first 5 people in! It was nice to not have it be so crowded, but the racks were also packed! I had trouble looking because there was so much. I don't usually look for tpys, but I had a list this time, a doctor kit, dolly high chair, clothes, etc. But they didn't really have any of what I wanted, so I just got her a dolly that had a binky...which she of course loves. I mostly got clothes, a Halloween costume, and a rain coat with matching galoshes. And I went to Walmart before, but over estimated however time it would take me, so I went to Panera, by myself, for lunch. It was glorious.
Day for kids
Beale has lots of fun things for families to do...one of which is the Day For Kids. This year they had a variety show at the community center, along with free food, bouncy houses, and other activities like face painting...all free. So I decided to take Emma...we did these things last year but she was too little to enjoy them. We started at the variety show. They had a ventriloquist, a mad scientist playing with fire, a couple of circus people doing tricks, and a magician who we did not stay for, as Emma was hungry, there were like 5 girls behind us with popcorn and cotton candy. And also she was upset by the circus people who pretended to be hurt, but she didn't understand and was very concerned for them and didn't get why it was funny that they were hurt, even though I explained. So we went and got some popcorn and cotton candy. She actually sat still to get her face painted, and of course she picked a cat. We found lots of friends there, and Emma even tried to paint a sun catcher, although at first she thought she was getting to paint her own face. But we had a fun time....that is until 10 pm when her tummy decided it did not like all the junk food she had been eating. For the record I did try to feed her carrots, but what little kid will eat carrots when they can have a sucker? Anyway, we were up all night while I could barley move her or she would get sick. She barely ate anything on Saturday. We went for a walk in the afternoon, and she seemed to be acting more like herself. She didn't nap well though, so I put her down at 7. She was exhausted, slept 14 hours, and woke up at 9 am....unheard of for Emma. (I thought it was fabulous. And I was glad she was finally getting some much needed rest.) We took her to church, but after holding her during service I think she has a fever. She almost fell asleep on Steven watching one of his streamers. I know she is dehydrated, but she is eating a little bit. Although we wish she was feeling better, it is nice to have a quiet, still snuggly girl sometimes. Here are a few pictures...

Trash day
Oh you know, just the weekly excitement of the trash truck. They are almost as exciting as fire fighters.

Flying a kite
This month is survey month for housing. They offer lots of fun things, like pizza and ice cream to try to get you to turn it in. Today there was an ice cream "social" at the park across the street. Emma and I went over, shared an ice cream sandwich, filled out a survey and came home to get our kite. Daddy got home too, so he went with us. So we flew our kite and got a Popsicle. Emma had great fun with the kite, we had been waiting for a windy day to use it. Oh, and no one else came so we won the drawing for the $50 gift card, and they sent home a bag full of ice cream with us. Not a bad afternoon.

JBF
The The JBF sales is this weekend...seriously this is the last one I'm doing. But it went better this time. I'm mostly done and ready except for a few odds and ends. Here is what it looks like when I'm getting it all ready.
After double clothes pinning each item to a hangar, I sit here and type in a description of each item, print tagas, cut them out and safety pin them with tape.
Also I hady last dentist appointment today, Yay!Sunday, September 20, 2015
Daddy's little helper
Steven had some work to do on the car today, and Emma was fascinated. He took a quick look under the hood before we left for church, and before we knew it she was dragging her stool through the house to bring outside so she could look too. We finally convinced her that she could watch him after church. And apparently she would rather watch than eat, as she ate a cracker and then went out to watch. Unfortunately for her it was also nap time, so she couldn't watch too long...also working on cars is not toddler friendly. But it was fun to see her so interested. Since Daddy has been home so much lately (he only worked 3 days this month), but is also gone a lot for class, she definitely enjoys spending lots of time with him. Every time I take her somewhere she begs to stay home with Daddy. And many mornings they can be found hiding under blankets (from me), or giggling and wrestling in her room...or really anywhere. She tries to convince him to let her stay up late by telling him she wants to watch Wiz, or one of the other streamers he watches. It almost works. ;)

Daddy's hat
Apparently I had several old blogs that never uploaded for some reason! Sorry...but enjoy them now!
Daddy was heading off to do his shooting.
Smoky days
There have been several wildfires around lately, none too close, but we still get the smoke when the wind blows our direction. It is still a little hazy, but much clearer...I was able to go running this morning. I posted some before and after pictures...also note it is cloudy today! It is actually cool and fall-like, very unlike the 107 degree day or two we had last week. We are excited to be in our jeans.
Playing at the big park
There is a park on our running route that Emma always asks to play at. So we have made it a habit of stopping to play on Fridays. It is a little bigger/taller than our park across the street, and she didn't used to like it, but she does now. Usually there is a little girl there, but today we were late, so she just played with dolly.
