Night night daddy

We were all playing on the floor going night, night. Daddy needed a dolly to snuggle with. 

Headphones

Yesterday Emma found the headphones we bought her for when we flew on the plane. She is now obsessed with them. Last night I had a headache so we just laid around while she experimented with our different headphones and ways to use them. We ended up listening to music each on our own headphones and then watching Disney previews together. This morning she wanted to listen to some music again....thankfully she just listens to my music, so if she makes me listen at least I like it. 

I forgot to post this last week...kitty was working out, too.

Pepper's ouchie

Pepper has had a bare spot on he elbow for quite some time. But after we gave her her last bath, we noticed it was bleeding. It wasn't getting better, so we took her to the vet today. The vet said it is infected, so we have to give her medicine twice a day and also soak it in an Epsom salt bath twice a day and then take her back twice to make sure it's healing. Pepper hates baths and any water that is not for drinking, but I do think she enjoys the special treatment, as we sit and pet her for the time she has to soak her leg. And I don't often say this, but she deserves it. She is old and puts up with a LOT. We do take her for a run every morning, but since Emma was born her special treatment has been considerably less. So it's good to pamper her when she is sick. We sure do love her, as Emma says, "she's a good dog." 

Pepper enjoys having her picture taken about as much as she enjoys baths. 

We put her medicine in peanut butter. And Emma carried the bag of Epsom salt into the kitchen and said, "this is too heavy for little girls."

It's sideways, but I got Emma a minion boo boo buddy...she loves it. In fact we have all had ouchies all day long. 

Bubble machine.

Yesterday at chapel De'Etta brought Emma a bubble machine. She was super excited After her nap we went to the store for bubbles (since she dumped them all out after I put them in) and batteries....and oh how much fun she had! And Emma had fun, too. I forgot how much Pepper loved bubbles.:) what a silly dog. They used up all the bubbles I gave them.

Stayin cool

It really wasn't too hot today, maybe 93. But we went for a small walk this afternoon to help us not be so tired...early naps are only good if they are long.  So after our hot walk I checked the freezer...I had bought fruit Popsicles, but I think we left them at the station. So we had one of daddy's...Emma thought it was great. We took the rest to the station tonight so the guys could have something cool while they work in the heat.

Sleep. Finally, she sleeps.

Yesterday Emma woke up at 5am. Not unusual. So I tried to put her back down, like normal, but she usually doesn't go back to sleep, so I stayed up. So of course she went back to sleep...until 8:30. Whenever she does this we usually assume she is sick. Even after she woke up she fell back asleep on me for 30 minutes, asked for a drink of milk and then laid on me for another 30 min. I convinced her to go to the park, but she just stood there, said it was hot and hat she wanted to go back home. She didn't have a fever so we took her to church. Afterward she took a good 3 hour nap and woke up very happy. She woke up at 6amtoday, and only got half her nap because we had to take her to the dentist, but hopefully she starts sleeping better. She is just so much happier and more herself when she gets good sleep...we all are for that matter. Oh, and she did "ok" at the dentist. Okay as in she remembered their toys, but screamed when the wanted to look in her mouth. They suggested we bring her back occasionally just to play, to get her comfortable again. 

Too tired to play.

Snuggling's my favorite

Our bedtime routine lately has involved lots of snuggling. Which is fine with me. She loves to lay down on mommy and daddy's bed after we have both gotten into our jammies. sometimes we invite Daddy to join us. Usually she says, "we had a good day," because I always ask her if she had a good day when we snuggle. Tonight I asked her what her favorite part of her day was: "dad." And when I kissed her goodnight she said, "gross!" And giggled...then told me to do it again. What a silly girl, but I guess we'll keep her. ;) oh, and you can see her new teeth in our snuggling pictures.

Dog park

After our run this morning we went for a walk...and ended up taking a detour to the dog park. Emma was still in her jammies, so she had to stay on the sidewalk. Pepper had a blast. It was nice to see green grass, and enjoy some time outside before it got too hot.

 

Family shopping

Thursday we ended up going to the commissary after dance class. It was so nice to have Steven along...so i could shop while he played with Emma. I could also ask him questions about what he wanted for work without having to guess...and apparently so he could see how much he eats. I keep trying to figure out why our food bill is so high...but the man has gained at least 15-20 pounds since we moved last year...a good thing for him...so I guess I don't really have much to figure out. Good thing I like to cook! 

Dancing with kitty

Sorry...I forgot to upload this one, this is from a few weeks ago.

Emma loves to wear her tutu and BK crown that daddy got for her. She also loves to sing ring around the rosie...I heard her singing it when she was 'resting' in her bed yesterday.

My beautiful blocks

OOwen brought Emma some more blocks the other day. Today we were really tired still, so we just played blocks. Emma is in a girly mood, she picked out all pink clothes, keeps talking on her pink phone and keeps saying, "my beautiful daisy," over and over. We have no idea why. Apparently everything is beautiful today, "my beautiful daisy, my beautiful blocks, my beautiful kitty, my beautiful diaper," yes, she actually said that. She is silly.

Pretending

Yesterday Daddy was at work, and instead of going shopping, we stayed home to clean. I had been meaning to rearrange some things in Emma's room, but never got around to it. I moved all the present wrapping stuff into our room and put her storage boxes in her closet...I should take a picture, her room looks a lot better, and now I can wrap presents when she is sleeping. Have you ever tried to wrap a present with help from a toddler? Yikes. But Emma had fun playing and just hanging out yesterday...pretending to go potty, talking in an old cell phone (for like an hour), and cutting cake. She has been  dragging her cutting board, knife and 'cake' everywhere.

A hat! A birthday hat.

In her purse are her cutting board, knife, cake and phone.

And finally, pretending to sleep. She slept good the last two days, but refused to take a nap today...as in we tried for two hours and she just screamed. Not sure what her deal was, but I finally took her to Roseville so she could nap in the car and Daddy could have some quiet...he only got 2 hours of sleep a day ago and the next day had a wildland (wild fire)...hopefully we all sleep good tonight. We are like walking zombies around here.

Dress up

Last Saturday we went to a fire fighters house to 'watch' a UFC fight. There were other kids there so Emma had a great time playing with someone else's toys. She would go into the playroom, and come out with something on to show us...first it was a giant sombrero, then Woody's hat, then shoes, see below. She had a great time showing off. She also found this baby, who had an attached binky, that she really wanted to take home. She really loves that doll, carried it around all evening. 

She has been dressing warmly on our runs...it hasn't been as hot out, which is nice because then I don't have to worry about going so early. We also saw some turkeys today...don't know if you can see the babies hiding in there.

She looked so cute but ran around crazy when I tried to take her picture. 

Also, we went to the pool today and she got to take her pink dolphin she got from the dentist. She had lots of fun.

I tried to get Emma to let me take a picture of her in her tutu...there were the best I could get.

She let me do her hair and put pink ribbons in. 

Evening at the park

The other night it was so nice out after dinner that we all went to the park together. We have had some days where the park is too hot by 10am, so it was an enjoyable evening. Emma and Daddy had fun chasing and playing around.
