Playing

I hesitate to post these pictures, as I know you all are getting ready for another winter storm this weekend. But this is our weather. Emma has been extra, um, difficult, lately...she hasn't been sleeping well and our schedule was off, which translates into whiny, obstinant, loud, and in general just extra two-year-old-ness. Thankfully yesterday we did our normal stuff, and she was slightly more reasonable. Keeping her busy seems to work best...which is exhausting for us, but I would rather keep busy when I am exhausted than deal with the alternatives. So anyway, we played outside in our 72 degree weather, Emma chased a bird all over the yard...that bird just kept hopping around and wouldn't fly off, and I was like,"bird, don't you know a toddler is after you? Run!" Which it finally did. Then we went to dance class. They are in a new room, so we can't see them anymore, so we went into their old room, the rev room and played ping pong and pool. Emma joined us when her class was over...they also do have kids toys in there.
Also Pepper hurt herself somehow yesterday and has been limping around ever since. She already had an appointment on Monday, so we will see if it is still bothering her then. She was so pathetic, couldn't even get up and walk to this pile of Cheerios that Emma dumped out while getting herself a snack while I was upstairs. She is getting old.

Linda's soda shop

I'm I'm Emma and I were in town this morning, so I thought it would be fun to go out for breakfast. I always think it's fun to try local places, so we went to Linda's Soda Shop. We had fun...Emma loved my breakfast and introducing us to everyone who would look at her. And the music, she loved the oldies playing. It was a fun little outing.

Make up for dolly

I'm As if we didn't learn our lesson from the baby powder incident, MondayEmma came  downstairs with dolly, who apparently needed a makeover with Mommy's make-up. I was cleaning the downstairs bathroom, and I figured she was with Steven, but he was on the phone trying to make sure one of his old friends hadn't died. (He didn't.) anyway, here she comes downstairs....I don't know if she was proud or just showing us she got into my stuff that she isn't supposed to have. Anyway...here is Dolly's makeover, courtesy of Emma. Oh, and while she was at it, I guess the thought she would just dump it out for the fun of it. At least I was cleaning already.
Emma put a little make-up on herself, too.

Baby Powder

Last Friday Emma called to me from upstairs..."Mom, baby powder!" Uh-oh. At first it didn't seem so bad, just a couple little spots that I could just vacuum.

Except that when she saw me taking pictures, she was like, "oh and I did it here, too...and here, and here...."
Her room...sorry her light is out and my lens was dirty.

Part of our room...I won't show you my closet as it was a mess.

Bathroom.

See Mom?
Box of clothes that are too small for Emma.

On her books, table, chair.

As if I didn't know who did it, I have the little footprints as proof.
It didn't take me too long to clean up....mostly I just vacuumed, wiped stuff down and threw the clothes in the laundry, and now our upstairs smells baby fresh. Emma was beyond exhausted when she did this...she has been getting up around 5:30 and had only had a 30 minute nap that day....Which is about where we are today as well. Oh well, at least she hasn't destroyed anything today...yet.

Going to the dentist

Today Emma had a dentist appointment. For those that don't know what, her top 4 teeth are severely decayed. We took her when she had just turned 2, and they gave us some options, but we are trying to wait until she is 3 to do anything. So we go in every 3 months for a fluoride treatment to try and hold off the sedation as long as possible. The dentists we have had before were confusing, but the lady we had today was great...and for a 2  1/2 year old, Emma did great. For her X-ray I told her to go night night and that the X-ray mat was her blanket...she seemed to mostly fall for it. Plus they have great toys and were playing Frozen. So the results from today were that as of right now we will need to put crowns on the 2 top middle teeth and extract the other 2. I wanted to wait until she is 3 because they will have to sedate her. She told me that we can do that, but I need to watch her to make sure they aren't bothering her or become abcessed, and that if we wait they may have to extract all 4 top middle teeth. I think we will at least wait until our next appointment to discuss it, mostly because I want Steven be there for that discussion...partly because he has had issues with sedation before. Anyway, I try to sneak a few pictures of the office while we were waiting.

Pictures with Emma

I let Emma get a balloon at the commissary the other day. I had gotten one for a friend's birthday last week, and Emma was very disappointed when she had the give the balloon away. So she was super excited to get her own. Also...taking pictures of Emma is always interesting. I never quite get what I had in mind, and as she gets older, it gets more complicated...she won't look at me, won't sit still, won't smile, wants to see her picture as soon as she hears it click once. I can never recreate what I had wanted to capture...plus I'm not a good photographer. So here is me trying to get a picture of Emma and her balloon..seriously this isn't even half my pictures.
Nice, but too much distraction of my floor and mess.
What Emma does when I tell her to 'smile.'
Tongue, part one.
Part two.
Eyes closed.
Won't sit still.
You mean you don't want me to wave my balloon around like this?
Pretty girl. This was the best one. :)

Spring

I'm Sorry for those of reading this who are still freezing. It has been fairly warm here lately, and we have been enjoying it.
Daddy stopped by the house to get something, and some of the kids at the park came to see the truck. The guys gave them stickers, but all except for Emma were too scared to get in the truck.

Strong face

I don't know how it happens, but somehow this week got away from me. Anyway...Emma loves to work out with me. We do different things, but today we took Pepper for a run and then worked out in Daddy's gym...it's supposed to be in the 70s for a few days...please don't hate us. Anyway, Emma is usually pretty good about watching me, keeping herself busy and even working out with me while I work out.she loves to do crunches, push ups and whatever else I am doing that day. So ermines she even super sets with me...we take turns doing the exercises. I took these on my iPad as I chased her around trying to get her to look at me, so they are blurry, sorry.
This video is from last week.
Hat
Backpack
Checking herself out....pretty sure she get this from Steven.
She looked at me!
New toy: Mom's water bottle inside Daddy's boot
She tried to make it a purse, but it was too heavy. She also made the helmet a bracelet.
Strong face! Sorta
It's heavy!
