Napping with Aunt Grace

On Sunday I was having trouble getting Emma down for a nap, and Aunt Grace was going to take a nap, so I said, "Here, snuggle with Aunt Grace." And snuggle they did. Aunt Grace is the best napper I know, so if I can't get Emma to sleep, it may become her job to put 'bore her to sleep,' as she says. They were pretty cute.

Shopping

Grandma Connie sells the Thirty-one gifts....http://www.thirtyonegifts.com/

And Emma loves to shop, look, and eat the catalog.

Baby jail

I have been taking some pictures, but I have been having trouble uploading them.
Here is Emma playing in her crib. She has lots of fun playing with the baby in the mirror. :)

Band Banquet--for babies

Last night was the band banquet. Emma was a very good girl, and slept while we ate. :) She woke up when all the clapping started, so we played. Here she is playing with her Aunts. (Also, congratulations to Aunt Tory, who won the award for most improved band member!)

Sleepy girl

I think Emma is going through a growth spurt, or at least a sleep spurt. Yesterday she took a two hour nap on grandma's lap. She has not been taking very long naps since we got to Kansas....too much going on to sleep!

This is what she does when she is awake. :)

Alex's Graduation

Uncle Alex graduated from graduate school on Friday. Emma and I tagged along to watch....although Emma slept through most of the ceremony. Here are some pictures from our day in Manhattan.

Prunes

Emma is a happy baby. However, she has been a little off since we arrived in Kansas. She has been constipated, teething, gassy, etc. And her sleep schedule is all off. Hopefully soon she gets regulated. To help her 'go,' we pumped her full of prunes for a few days. This is on Mother's Day after fighting a nap, and eating prunes at the same time.
We have a similar picture of me when I was a baby, I had fallen asleep in my food. (She did eventually 'go.')

an update

Sorry about the lack of posting....Emma and I have been busy enjoying Kansas. Also, it is harder to take pictures since I have to drag the camera around and upload on someone else's computer. However, we are getting our old laptop fixed, so hopefully we will be able to upload some other pictures soon. For now, here are a couple pictures I have taken on the ipad.

Half a dozen Roses

These were taken at the Mother-Daughter dinner at church. Not often we all get in one place at one time.

Emma and Grandma Connie

When we went home for Christmas, I realized we had pictures of Emma with all of her grandparents except Grandma Connie...at least one where Grandma was looking at the camera and not Emma. :) So here they are:

Good trip

Well, for those who don't know, we left about 7:45 Monday morning for Kansas. We had a pretty good trip, although a very, very long one. We got stuck in Edmond, OK for about 3 hours because we got a nail in our tire. Also, we discovered Emma was cutting another tooth, and she was pretty fussy, but mostly she was trooper. So we ended up getting to Topeka about 10:15 Monday night. And a BIG thanks to Aunt Grace for coming with us....we could not have done it without you.
Here is Emma playing peek a boo...she sometimes did this with Pepper, or herself in her mirror. Also, it was very green after we left west Texas....we were all very excited about it.

Where's Emma?

Peek-a-boo!

Yay for being out of the car!

Mom, what is this stuff?

Not tired

Well, it is currently almost 6 am and Emma and I have been up since 2:30am. I am assuming she is teething, but she doesn't act upset...just wide awake. She was super clingy this weekend though, and gnawing on everything. I am not sure when we will be leaving...it depends on if Aunt Grace wants to do some driving while we sleep in the car. Otherwise our plans will be changing.
Here is Emma.......wide awake.

A Crazy Day

Yesterday was kind of a crazy day here. At 5AM Emma woke up and didn't go to sleep for an hour or so...apparently her tummy was still upset as she had some diarrhea. Good morning to me. She has a head cold and can't breathe very well. As for her afternoon nap, he woke up after only 30 minutes, and couldn't go back to sleep.
So we went shopping. We had some errands to do, and we may have bought some pretty new dresses for Emma, too. ;)
When we got home, we were playing, and then about the time we were going to leave for Wednesday night church, Pepper had a seizure. She has had one before, and there is nothing you can do. She came over to sit with us after it started, which is strange, because normally I think they are supposed to go away in a quiet place, but she wanted to be close I guess. So I petted her until it was over, and then I noticed what I thought was a flea. (Turns out it probably wasn't one, but I didn't know.) So I freaked out, gave Pepper a bath (which was ok since it was 97 degrees out), poured comet all over the carpet, vacuumed like 12 times and then Emma and I took a bath. After all that, I realized we weren't going to make it to church, so we took a walk...Pepper, too. Pepper hasn't been on a walk since Steven left because it is hard for me to handle her and the stroller...especially if she gets excited, you know, at a leaf blowing by or something. :) Anyway, Pepper was beyond excited and we had a nice walk...the clouds were rolling in and you could hear the distant sound of thunder. Then we got to talk to Steven before bed. Good end to a crazy day.

"My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
2 Corinthians 12:9, NLT

I love Pepper!
