Silly 6 year old saying

I have lots of pictures to upload, but it will have to wait for tomorrow as it is already late. But I wanted to share a funny thing Emma has said lately. One day she told me, “I’m not feeling 100%. I’m feeling like 6%.” 😂😂😂 That girl cracks me up! She has not been sick, I think she was mostly saying something she heard someone else say. She has said this a couple times, different percentages each time. She is silly.

This picture is from school. They had to pick what kind of community helper they want to be. Emma picked a librarian. I remember wanting to be a potter when I was in like 2nd grade. Emma’s is more realistic, and would actually be helpful.

Turkey project

Thanks to Pinterest, school projects tend to be very similar wherever you go. This year we again had to disguise our turkey so he wouldn’t be eaten. Emma decided she wanted to dress him up as a firefighter. So we went to Joyful Honda and found some materials, and today we dressed him up. I think he turned out great.

Christmas shopping

We have tried to do some Christmas shopping with Emma lately. “Tried” being the key word. It is so hard to shop for other people when you are 6. Yesterday we went to Donquiote (sp?), and today we went to Joyful Honda. Tonight we mostly ended up getting stuff for her turkey project at school, that was all we could handle. We did get to see some awfully cute puppies though!

I forgot my phone when we went to Don Quixote’s yesterday. But Steven took a picture of thesefor me. They are sandals. If anyone needs a gag gift, please let me know! There are sooo many here! I think these are hilarious!

This puppy was very friendly. She wanted to lick our fingers. Emma let the puppy lick/chew on green dolly. We love looking at the puppies and kittens at Joyful Honda.

She requested this picture for some reason.

And this one. These are her 2 ‘sisters.’ Green Dolly and Amelia.

Flu shot

Apparently it is required for the kids at Emma’s school to get a flu shot. I didn’t realize this until a couple days ago, and they were having a flu shot time at the clinic for two hours the other day, so we went. The line was long, probably 50 kids before us. But it went fast and it was good for Emma to see all her friends doing it, too. She didn’t want it. But it went faster than last time, we didn’t have to hold her down and there was no crying! Success! But when we got home she walked around holding her arm as if it was broken. Daddy wasin a  generous mood, so he made her a sling. I would have just told her to get over it.

November

For some reason, Emma is very excited that it is November. She does like changing the calendar. Here are a couple pictures from the last few days.

At her storybook parade at school. I do love that smile.

Her favorite part of baking. We made pumpkin cream cheese muffins.

And oh her imagination! She came out all bundled up and said she was going hunting with her children in winter. (Apparently her husband was 99 years old and he died.) I said maybe she should set traps instead so her kids wouldn’t have to be out in the cold. So she did. And she caught a moose! But it had clothes on. Apparently she put magic in the trap. She tried to invite me to her house. But I talked her into camping ‘by the fire’ (space heater) instead. I wish I could record these things. I just cannot remember all the strange things she comes up with!

(Backup) Early Halloween, lost tooth, fall weather

Halloween has gone over board lately. Everyone has a trick or treating event. We like candy, but not enough to keep dressing up for it...we only did twice. Last Friday we went to the Chapel’s Trunk or Treat event. It was great: music, Carmel apples, s’mores, hot chocolate, candy, and the FD brought their trucks and bouncy slide. On Saturday, after getting about 15 pieces of candy the night before, Emma said she was done and didn’t want to go trick-or-treating 😮 She wanted to hand out candy. We bought a small bag and went to someone else’s house to hand them out. We did stop at a few houses, mostly people we knew. It was crazy out though. They let the Japanese kids come on base to trick-or-treat...and bus them over to the officer housing. Sometimes we had to stand in line for a few minutes to get candy. One of my friends said they went through 480 pieces of candy in 70 minutes...only giving one at a time! Many of the garden house culdesacs set up tents to bbq while handing out candy. It’s quite an event here.

She also lost her second tooth on Saturday! I used all my yen on tolls getting to my surgery, so Steven had to come home from work and bring some. 🤦‍♀️ And my friend is making her a tooth fairy pillow so that we have a a better system. I didn’t wake her up this time, but she moved around when I put it under her pillow.

The weather has been perfect here lately. Very enjoyable. I got to enjoy it yesterday when I went to my doctors appointment. I had my stints taken out of my nose yesterday...they were about as big as a 3M hook, minus the hook. I can breathe really well out of one side of my nose. The other side still has some surgical glue that is slowly melting...dripping out of my nose, but is still completely blocked. I was surprised how sore my face has been since took them out.  I couldn’t even chew my cereal this morning, and I can’t move my nose enough to sniffle. He said that even though the outside might look fine, the inside will still have swelling for a while. I go back in a month.

Going to Trunk or Treat

Roasting marshmallows

Someone got ahold of my phone and took a selfie.

Can you see her tooth? I think it’s still there.

And not 5 minutes later, she lost it!

She was eating chocolate when it came out.

We did some relaxing on Saturday.

Going trick or treating! They do it on the Saturday before Halloween here.

Going for a walk Sunday morning

She was FaceTimeing.

We have seen Fuji a lot this time of year.

From the bus, on the way to my doctors appointment.

They have a McDonalds on the navy base. It’s by the ocean.

This is what is outside the window.

Happy birthday to me

Today was my birthday, Emma reminded me when I woke up. I spent the day in the recliner. My pain goes in and out, right now it’s doing better. Sleep has not been my friend, but hopefully tonight will be better. (It is hard to sleep upright with a thing on your nose to catch all the drips.)  We had chicken pot pie that a friend made, and some candy that Daddy and Emma picked out for me. (I am pretty sure she requested to go shopping on like October 1st for my presents. She did a good job waiting to give them to me.) She also picked out an obnoxious card that sings...one that I am always trying to get her to put back when we go pick out cards. But today it seemed to fit. The pig and I have a resemblance this week. I felt bad though, because while I was very thankful for their presents, I couldn’t smile. So here: 😀

When you pull out the tab it becomes a rainbow Afro...and sings very loudly. That is as much of a smile as I can manage.
