Hangin with Papa Mike

We have enjoyed having Papa Mike here this week. He is working away on our vehicles, and the truck finally can get out of the driveway! We have also had him do some other odd jobs...fixing random things around our house. Emma has really enjoyed having him here to climb on, snuggle with, and help with the car. ;) I have enjoyed having him here to help divert some of Emma’s boundless energy. So far he has played princesses, dentist and jungle gym and given piggy back rides. He will probably leave more exhausted than he came, but I have enjoyed the break!

Chillin in the truck. She loves to be out there while he is working. Hopefully he didn’t get kicked in the head too many times.

This tiny little part was causing a racket every time you turn the truck on or off.

Resting after school.

Emma went to the dentist Monday morning to have two cavities filled. They gave her the nitrous in a bubblegum smelling nose thing...the pink nose thing in the picture. (They let her keep it.) Apparently Papa Mike needed to go to the firefighter dentist, that hat keeps you safe she said.

Goodbye Ada

Saturday Ada had a going away party at the park. It was a fabulous day and all the kids got to play for a couple hours together. Sunday we drove them to the airport after church. There were tears and sad goodbyes. Ada told Emma to make sure and tell Noah and Katie that she would miss them, which she did. These kids were all in Ms. Rosie’s class last year.

Emma, Siri, Eleia, Katie, Noah, Ada, Teddy, Sophie, Rosie, Sam. Missing were Riley and Liam who were sick...and a couple others who couldn’t come.

Love their personalities in this one. I told them to cheese.

Saying goodbye at the airport. These are never fun, especially for Emma.

Much needed break(fast)

Papa Mike got here yesterday afternoon! Emma was so excited. We came home, and after seeing how tired I was, she said she wanted to go to the park...but not with me. She said she wanted to go with Papa Mike and I should take a nap. Hard to argue when she has such great ideas! I didn’t actually nap, but it was nice to close my eyes and rest. I was exhausted!! We were all exhausted, so it was pizza and football for dinner after dance class.

This morning I went out to Pearlena’s going away breakfast at Awful Annie’s. It was yummy! After breakfast we walked around some of the shops and ended up at Blabbermouth Chocolates. The name turned out to be appropriate, because this chocolate man was chatty like the one in Texas. But the chocolate was delicious! I love finding these little shops. It was so relaxing to just eat and walking around shops unhurried. I needed a day like this. :)

Reading about Biscuit

Good friends: Darlene, Pearlena’s MIL, Andria, Chelsea, Me, Pearlena, Bridget.

I got an Awful Annie’s cookbook! It is full of recipes, but sadly not their pancakes.

Emma’s new lamp for her room.

Girl loves to help no matter the job...and if you don’t give her a job she will find one!   (Even if it is a not helpful job.)

Finally...she made someone else a concoction! Not sure what all was in it besides blueberries and pepper, but she made it in the chicken can I hadn’t rinsed. (She also tried to microwave it! Yikes! She called it Papa Mike’s sauce.) Papa Mike dipped his finger in and tired it. Then she tasted it and didn’t like it.

Bubbles

Ada's family gave us some of their food and things they couldn't take....including bubbles. Emma wanted to play with them after school, so we did. It made us miss Pepper, who loved bubbles. So she gave us party hats and we had a Pepper party, or something like that. These weeks of saying goodbye are always hard...they never get easier.

Emma and Ada

Ada's family is now out of their house across the street. These girls are going to miss each other...and us moms, too. I am so thankful for the time we got to get to know them and all of our long conversations. These pictures are from a couple weeks ago. We were talking outside and the girls just started playing...this happened a lot. They brought half the living room outside. Then they saw some deer...and went toward them.

Restful weekend

We finally had a restful, not busy weekend. Our plans Saturday were cancelled, so we just stayed home and played, read books, painted nails, watched a movie, Skyped with Daddy and took naps. I told Emma we could go out for dinner, and she chose Burger King. (Not my favorite, but we didn't have to go far.) She really enjoyed it. Today after church we played, watched football, and then played at the park with Ada. We need more weekends like this.

Delilah went back home on Saturday. We were organizing the animal cards.

My Burger King date

Emma with one of her people at chapel. Chapel has been especially crazy lately, lots of changes even for the military. So we are always thankful for these familiar faces.

We played at the park for a few hours. It was really nice out, although Emma did get stung by a bee. Next Sunday after chapel we will be taking Ada's family to the airport and saying goodbye. 😭😭😭

Long day

One of these days I will remember to just stay home. Kindergarten is exhausting. So doing anything afterwards is an 'at your own risk' kind of thing. Well, I chose wrong today. We went to the Fall Festival and she came home completely exhausted. She refused to eat dinner, then tried to take Delilah for a walk by herself while I was getting ready for bed. Then I spent an hour getting her to bed...it wasn't pretty...all before 7pm!

On a happier note...she is growing, and school pictures came home today!

I ordered this for her.

Petting animals with Riley and Liam.

Checking out the fire truck!

Playing games

Crashing hard after a long day.

She is growing up! 😭😊
