Walking with dolly
Saturday we noticed Emma was having some tummy issues...and they were bothering her enough for her to wake up at 4am on Sunday. These are the kind of tummy issues that benefit from exercise (and lots of pure apple cider from Bishops), so after our dance party we took dolly for a walk. We all had fun, even if it was 90 degrees outside in October. (Tomorrow it is supposed to be 95.) Thankfully it all helped and she is back to being herself and catching up on sleep. She woke up at 6:30 this morning (super late for Emma), and had a 3 1/2 hour nap. She was a very happy girl today. :)

Pumpkin Farm
Last year when we all tried to go to the pumpkin farm it was a disaster...everyone came home grumpy. I'm pretty sure our visit last year started a very difficult month for Emma. But I was slightly more optimistic this year, since Emma was a year older. She gets very timid in groups of large people, and it was busy today. But she liked looking at the animals in the petting zoo, jumping in the hay, playing, watching the train and pig show. Unfortunately her tummy was bothering her today so she still wasn't herself. But I was at least smart and did not get her ANY junk food...I remember what happened last time. She was mostly excited to finally get a pumpkin, as she has been begging for one every time she sees one. When we got home she said, "we had a long day!" So I hope she sleeps good!
New schedule
This week was Steven's first full week of his new schedule. It was a long week, as he also had his EMT class Monday and Wednesday from 6-10, and even earlier so he could make up time for when he goes TDY in a week. So to save driving time and sleep time, on Monday he just slept at the station. He came home Tuesday, but I had Bible study...and when he left Wednesday morning Pepper walked around crying as he left. Even she knows he's not supposed to go to work 3 days in a row. But we survived. Emma and I kept busy with all kinds of things...running, working out, shopping, cooking, doctors appointments and even potty time! After my 3rd and final eye doctor appointment (I was trying different contacts), we went to Walmart. We needed little girl sunglasses since the ones at the BX were super expensive and the sun is very bright when we run at 7am...and I lost her other ones. But we also found a doctor's set for Emma...and what do you know we have all been 'sick' ever since we got it...pretty sure her dollies are always sick. But she loves it and it keeps her busy. :) She also has been having potty time most days this week. She got a new potty book and apparently now it is cool to have potty time like Ashley (the little girl in the book).

Call me, ok?
Last week Emma was having a bedtime snack, and we were listening to music. She picked out "Brother" by NEEDTOBREATHE. She is singing, " Brother, let me be your shelter," very loudly. And then when they say,, "I can be the one you call," she says, "When you're alone you call me, ok?" Then she gets distracted. I took another video, but in that one she is trying to make her hand into a phone to 'call.'
Once again, she mostly knows the chorus.
Here are the lyrics:
"Brother"
Once again, she mostly knows the chorus.
Here are the lyrics:
"Brother"
Ramblers in the wilderness we can’t find what we need
Get a little restless from the searching
Get a little worn down in between
Like a bull chasing the matador is the man left to his own schemes
Everybody needs someone beside em’ shining like a lighthouse from the sea
Brother let me be your shelter
I’ll never leave you all alone
I can be the one you call
When you’re low
Brother let me be your fortress
When the night winds are driving on
Be the one to light the way
Bring you home
Face down in the desert now there’s a cage locked around my heart
I found a way to drop the keys where my failures were
Now my hands can’t reach that far
I ain’t made for a rivalry I could never take the world alone
I know that in my weakness I am strong, but
It’s your love that brings me home
Brother let me be your shelter
I’ll never leave you all alone
I can be the one you call
When you’re low
Brother let me be your fortress
When the night winds are driving on
Be the one to light the way
Bring you home
And when you call and need me near
Sayin' where'd you go?
Brother I'm right here
And on those days when the sky begins to fall
You're the blood of my blood
We can get through it all
Brother let me be your shelter
I’ll never leave you all alone
I can be the one you call
When you’re feelin' low
Brother let me be your fortress
When the night winds are driving on
Be the one to light the way
Bring you home
Brother let me be your shelter
I’ll never leave you all alone
I can be the one you call
When you’re low
Brother let me be your fortress

Dance class
Since Emma's dance class is at the community center on base, sometimes they have to switch rooms. Thursday they were in the game room, so I got to watch. I sneaked a few pictures and videos in between trying to delete all the pictures that Emma took.

Shopping day with Mom
I had an eye appointment in Roseville, and since it also happened to be Steven's first day back at work, Emma came with me. She had a blast, the doctor loved her. But afterwards we did a little shopping and had lunch. It was a fun day.
Emma's pictures
I rarely let Emma hold my phone, but she has her own headphones that we bought for our trip home in May. So the other day I let her use it to listen to music since she doesn't really have anything else to listen to. However she figured out how to take pictures...so I found tons of Emma pictures on my phone.
