Cooler weather
We have been having some cooler weather lately, like highs in the 80s. Yesterday our high was low 80s, windy with cloudy skies. It felt a little chilly. Emma has been bundling up for walk and playing in the morning. We even had chili for dinner the other night. It has been a nice break.

Dancing with a dolphin
Emma was feeling better this evening. She played and ate pretty good...although she only had a 45 minute nap so she was acting pretty tired tonight. But I caught her dancing with her dolphin.
New teeth, part 1
This morning we took Emma to the dentist, bright and early, to get her front 4 teeth fixed. She wasn't allowed to have any food or water before, so we gave her a binky and she didn't even notice. Once Daddy got home and disposed of the dead mouse in the backyard, ("Daddy will help us" came in very handy ;)) we headed out. She did really good for the most part. They took her vitals and let Daddy give her the medicine. I wasn't sure it was working yet, Steven was....but when the dentist came to check on her and she looked up, her head went all the way back, bumped her head on the wall, she couldn't even hold it up. We took her to the room where they had a nice soft, fluffy blanket for her to lie on, and a Frozen blanket to cover her with. So I laid her down, we kissed her and told her night night....she gave a big silly smile. Steven left to get some stuff from Walmart and Chink-fil-a for breakfast. After a little while she started having trouble...which they warned us would happen because little kids get tired of sitting like that and the groggy stuff begins to wear off. She was really screaming for a while, and even when we came to get her she was pretty upset, the dentist said it was probably because of the numbness. I took her out to the car while Steven did the paper work stuff, and we snuggled and had a bite of chocolate pudding. She looked really tired and just wanted to snuggle. She cried on and off the whole way home, but once we got back she finally settled down in my lap and we watched Curious George. So far she has had almost two glasses of milk, a little chocolate pudding and some yogurt. She is currently watching George and playing with her blow-up pink dolphin they gave her...which is almost as big as she is. They were able to put crowns on all 4 teeth. We will try to get a picture, but it may be a while. They are pearly white though!

Working hard, playing hard
Emma is a good helper. She just loves to help me...do absolutely everything. I'm used to her helping me cook and clean, but now she wants to help me with every little part of my day. Buckle her car seat, push the button on the door, flush the toilet, help me get dressed, put on my sunscreen and brush my teeth (ok she only likes to do that bc it tickles me). I did teach her that she has to remind me before I do something if she wants to help. She seems to have caught on. She likes to help me take out the trash, so let her. I guess it's more fun when she does it. It's definitely cuter. :)

Afterwards we went to the park. She is getting much more adventurous and ornery...more loud, less gentle. I said in an earlier post that she doesn't sit still to read books as much...mostly jumping off her slide into pillows or sliding down head first. In these pictures she wanted me to sit at the bottom of the slide so she could get me at the bottom. Pretty sure she her hugs turn into choking.

Happy 4th of July!
Our Independence Day started out slow, as I woke up with a headache from my cavities and didnt feel like running. So we stayed home and ate banana muffins, 'read' books (Emma will hardly sits still that long anymore), Skyped, went to the park, played play dough, played outside, and played dentist in preparation for Monday...all before lunch. After lunch she had a nap, then we headed to the pool. We thought we would try out the festivities in Lincoln, but after sweating in 100+ degree heat for an hour and a half, we decided to leave. Emma was really too little to play on anything, but we did enjoy a snow cone. :) then we met some friends for dinner at Red Robin...in air conditioning! Then we came home, snuggled and went to bed.

Working out with Mom
I have taken a few pictures of Emma working out with me...she has been doing lots of crunches lately. Today we saw a bobcat on our run...I'm considering changing our route again.
