Weekend at home, part 1

Emma has decided that she wants to get up to play in the middle of the night...I am not a fan, but whatever. So this weekend we mostly stayed at home and hung out. Here are some pictures from our weekend at home.

In the middle of the night....

Ugh. Emma seems to think it is acceptable to wake up in the middle of the night. She also seems to have forgotten that last night I only got 5 1/2 hours of broken up sleep. So of course, she has the brilliant idea to wake up at 2 am. Yay. Apparently she just had to read this book. She is reading aloud to herself and everything.

Texas....to California!

Wednesday night Steven called me to tell me we were ALL going to Beale AFB, CA. The base is about an hour northeast of Sacramento, two hours from San Francisco....and the ocean. We are thrilled....mostly to be going somewhere together. Steven is thrilled because he wants to go to the Aronld Classic, a bodybuilding competition. Pretty sure he is hoping to run in to Arnold at some point. :) Emma was apparently so excited that she woke up at 3am so I could do some research. So here you go....here is a lot of information.

It seems to be kind of like Mountain Home, ID, where we lived before Texas...in that it is an hour away for a big city, with a small town nearby. Steven says this is good...especially in California, to not be in a big city. At least we know what we are getting into this time around. Also, it's is 24 hours from Topeka (according to the same source, it was 18 from Mtn Home), and plane tickets into Sacramento don't appear to be too expensive. Housing seems to be all over the place...some new, some old. Well, Emma is playing night night, so hopefully that means we get to go back to sleep. :)

Working out, playing around

Emma and I discovered that it is much more fun to stay home and do Jillian than try to go all the way to the gym where I will get the same amount (or less) of time in, and I can only do cardio. So I get a better work out at home, and Emma is happier. Here she is getting pumped up.
And since she only had a one hour nap today, she was pretty tired this evening. She even went to sleep before 8...I was rocking her, but the light was on and I wasn't even singing...she was a tired girl. But anyway...one of the things that kept her happy until bedtime/shower time, was playing outside. She loves to be outside.

Her Sunday Best

It was cold here on Sunday...at least in the morning. So I put Emma in a warm dress...it was a little long, but it was still cute. And since she can walk now, it didn't really matter that it was a little long. These are the best pictures I could get, she is hard to catch on the move!

Oh Emma

Emma has been adjusting to TX....apparently by taking fewer naps. :( Oh well, sometimes she still takes two naps, but not as long. Lately, she has been trying to communicate via grunts, rather than using her sign language. Although sometimes she just does this stuff:
Mom...I want to go outside. Emma loves being outside.
Yesterday Emma went crazy when she saw the stroller on the patio....just like the dog. We had to go for a walk...right now!!!

Mom, I'm hungry.
Notice I have my tennis shoes on...Emma brought them to me, along with my socks.
Ok, this is just Emma being silly. She brought me her jacket, she wanted to wear it.

Laundry Party!

Tonight we really needed to fold laundry. And I know how good Emma is at 'helping,' so I tried to use her strengths. I turned the baskets on their side and told her it was her job to pull everything out. She did a very good job. :) She then enjoyed falling into the pile of sheets as if they were leaves, playing night night, exploring inside the empty baskets, and playing with Pepper. It was finally fun to do laundry.

How do I get out?

Pulling all the clothes out.

Hi Mom.

Getting some more while I pile myself on.

She kept throwing herself on like this.

Going in again.

She opened the door so Pepper could come in and enjoy the party.

Yay for laundry!
