Good days

I feel like we have finally started to settle down here. I’m low on hours for work for this month, so I have more time at home. We have been doing lots of bike riding, and other fun activities together. I don’t feel as stressed, and I’m trying to get back into good routines...aka eating lunch, etc. The time change has helped with some of that, we have time in the mornings to not rush, but we also now miss talking to Daddy before he goes to work. Today I checked the mail and he had sent Emma a package, so I got her as soon as school was out and we stayed in her classroom to FaceTime so he could watch her open it. She was so excited. I’m also excited that she will get some breaks from school soon. They are off Friday, then have a week of early release for conferences, and then a whole week off for Thanksgiving. We are ready for a break!

Painting nails and watching football...with earmuffs on.

Taking Delilah for a walk...with earmuffs on.

Where Delilah lives lots of kids just play outside all the time. Emma looked on longingly, and eventually went over and joined them. I started to call her back, but decided to just let her play for a while. We don’t have many kids for her to play with in our neighborhood.

Ah, these people talk like they have been in my house! This is from my 5 year old book. They were talking about sending kids to school to early, and back then Kindergarten was only half day!! People are getting greedy with education and it is NOT working for the kids! Emma is doing better, but a full day is still too long!

These are pictures she drew at school. The top one is her bedroom, the bottom is our dining room.

“I’m a munk-chip!”

We rode bikes to school today. Also,  I am now known to the neighborhood kids as ‘Emma’s mom.’

You can’t se very well in this picture, but Emma watered me instead of the grass. It was a chilly bike ride home!

Her card and present from Daddy. He draws way better than I do! Happy girl!

A few adventures

Our rainy season is beginning...I’m thankful for rain boots and will be happy when my sinuses adjust. Today we did a little shopping, which always seems like a lot of shopping when you combine a weekend with Roseville and Emma. I’m exhausted. But we did get some things we needed. We filled our box for Operation Christmas Child, and even had some things left over that a certain little girl got to keep. We finished using my gift card from my birthday and had Panera for lunch. Emma is fun to take a clothes shopping...she always has an opinion, and is very complementary.  :) But once again...she is 5, so fun is also exhausting.

Getting ready for school. She loves to take pictures...but needs lots of reminders to ask first.

She took another of Siri and Eleia.

Siri was queen bee this week, she brought donuts for snack...and wanted to take a picture of them. :) so I let her.

We were checking on Delilah...Emma pretended to be Holly the whole time.

Wearing mommy’s glasses.

Her homework was to disguise Tom Turky so he wouldn’t get eaten for Thanksgiving. I suggested a penguin, she wanted a reindeer.

Note to self...crafts at normal bedtime (we gain an hour tonight) when I have a headache are not a great idea, but we survived. I wish Steven was home, I can be crafty, but he is a better artist.

Speaking of Steven...he has been playing tourist in Korea the last couple weeks. I realized I didn’t put these on the blog, so there are a lot. He has been doing lots of hiking.

He said this was a coffee shop. He seems to take pictures that Emma will like.

I think this is a temple or something, the artwork is pretty ornate.

Emma likes this one...all the colors.

Looks like it’s pretty there this time of year!

Tiger

I’m assuming this was the at the top.

This is a pile of rocks. He says he always adds one to the pile when he sees one of these.

This is from last weekend. This was the top of that hike. These hikes take allllll day.

Scary bridge.

Crazy day!

Well Papa Mike left and our day just never stopped! I dropped Emma off at school and then picked her up 30 minutes later to go to the dentist. She only has one more appointment left! Afterwards she went back to school and I went to work. After school we came home for a while, but then Siri and Eleia’s mom called and said their car had died. So we went over to school to pick them up and take them to get a rental car from the dealership. The girls had a blast together. We grabbed dinner on the way home, ate at home and then hurried to an 80s going away party. Emma stayed with a friend and a babysitter, and I dropped in the party for a half hour. I had to leave early because...school night, and honestly I was just too exhausted to be in a party mood. So we came home and went to bed. A long, full day. Fun, but let’s just say I’m excited we have some breaks and changes in our schedule coming!

This was her prize from the dentist.

She got a strawberry nose this time.

Nose buddies!

She liked my new 31 bag! She said she was going shopping.

Emma loves to be Siri and Eleia’s teacher after school while we clean up. They like it, too.

Siri is the Queen Bee this week. Emma photobombed in her picture.

These girls loved being in the car together. I put some movies on for them since the drive was long.

When you are the Queen Bee you take Buzzy the Bee around all week. So we took him to he dealership!

Emma tried to play MarioKart with Noah. She said Noah could do it, but she and the babysitter were not good at it.

She was pretty snuggly tonight. Missing people is hard. But thankfully we are on the downhill, and have lots to look forward to in the meantime.

Goodbye Papa Mike

Papa Mike left this morning. Emma, of course, was very sad, but she know he is coming back soon! Last night we tried to go to Awana, but there was really bad traffic so we just came home. We watched game 7 of the World Series with Papa Mike, and apparently played school. Our teacher is very strict. ;)

Emma had a different face in each picture...

This is our teacher. She had us write all kinds of words, draw pictures, and then read to us. I was not a very good student, as I kept watching the game and my eyes weren’t on the teacher. Oops. But then I got out of school because I was ‘sick,’ so she called my mom and I went to the office to wait for her. ;)
