Adventures at Lowes

Today Emma and I went to a kids workshop at Lowes. They have these kits of things for each kid to build. Today they were making Valentine's picture frames. Emma had a blast. And on the way in we saw flowers, so of course we got some...and we will attempt to keep them alive.
Using the 'banger' as she calls it.
She was too short for the table, so we improvised. The concrete bags behind us would have made a good step if they weren't 80 pounds.
All done!  She looks so big.
Planting our flowers. I will give you one guess to figure out which one Emma picked.
Watering.
I went to remove the soil out of here, and realized there is something alive growing in here! Something I apparently couldn't kill...I had fake flowers in here so I didn't water them, but they must have gotten enough rain to live. God is a much better gardener than I am. :) we will keep watering it to see what it is, since I can't remember.
All done! Real flowers!

Playing at the mall

Saturday Emma and I went to the mall to get out of the house. We tried to do a little shopping, but it's a hard task when you are 3. The Roseville mall can be overwhelming for me, so for Emma, on a Saturday, well...we ended up getting a couple snacks and finding a new play area that we had somehow missed before. She really did good, walked the whole time and was apparently very hungry.

And on Sunday, we enjoyed the nice weather outside. Emma has figured out how to do Pepper's leash, so she kept putting it in and taking it off.
Poor dog.

Sick days

Daddy has been home for most of 3 days. He has had to go in for a couple of meetings, but then just comes home to rest. He has had stomach flu symptoms, which have been constant and allowing him little actual rest. He did finally go to the doctor today and was able to keep some food and water down. Hopefully he is starting to get better. Everyone at work said he looked terrible and like he lost 10 pounds, which he does, and may have actually. Emma, however, enjoyed having him home, even if he was sick. He snuggles with her and plays when he can. And since she was too excited about Daddy being home, she wouldn't take a nap so this afternoon, so Emma and I went to the park with Ada where even more friends showed up...we were there for a couple hours enjoying the nice weather, until we couldn't take the mosquitoes anymore. But it was a good day, and hopefully Steven is on the mend.
Using all of Daddy's precious energy...he had to take a nap after this.

The sky is falling!

Guess what I saw today?!
I never though I would see this again, especially in California!

Nice weather

Sorry this post is a week old, I just realized it never posted.
Thursday we took Pepper for a run, since it was so nice out. She was super excited, and we even stopped by the dog park. I can't wait to run outside everyday again, neither can Pepper. Oh, and Emma has been practicing her 'I'm pretending not to smile' face. And she thinks it's a good idea to ask people (even pretend Noah) if they have babies in their tummies, then she tells them she has poop in her tummy....the conversation just gets more awkward from there....We are working on our manners.
Pretending not to smile.
January at Beale...green grass, occasional blue skies in between all the rain.
Pretending not to smile, and pretending to go to bed.

Water

Emma has a new favorite video to watch, and it is pretty good...although she partly likes it because of "her pretty dress!"  But really, it's good. This video is David Phelps singing with his daughter, who has the voice of an angel. And if you look closely, you can see his sister playing the trumpet in the background. (We learned that on another video....not sure who else is related.)
The song is called Water, and is about the story in John 4 of Jesus talking to the woman at the well.
Here is the story:

Play dates

The Emma has had a couple of play dates the last week. Owen came over, along with Hannah, his 6 month old sister, who Emma loves. And last night we went Ada's house, one of Emma's friends who just moved in across the street! Yay! They had a blast.
Emma loves Hannah, and you can't tell, but Hannah likes Emma, too.
Baby Jesus and Mary at the park with Noah. Maybe they do this in heaven?
Ada and Emma
They played lots of silly nonsense games, like this one. They stood on the ottoman, threw off their stuffed animals, and jumped off to go get them.
Apparently it was super fun.
