Packing for tlf

Tomorrow we go to tlf so that housing can fix our bathtub situation once and for all. So tonight Emma and I started packing. At least when she was in my suitcase she wasn't destroying anything...it was a long day.

Mommy play date

As a part of our Moms and Mentors group, each month we meet with one of the other moms for a mommy play date...last month I went shopping with Bre, and this month Caitlin and I decided to go to Awful Annie's for breakfast. Neither of us had been there, and we had heard it was good...its little place in downtown Lincoln. I thought I might have to cancel bc of car issues, but we were able to go...although that should have been a sign that we should have just stayed home. Her alarm didn't go off and she ended up being late. It wasn't a big deal, Emma and I just walked down the street and went shopping. Emma got a Curious George coloring book. And everyone was right...the food that I did eat was fabulous. However, Emma's tummy was upset and she threw up. So after getting her changed and cleaned up, we left. And then I apparently left my delicious leftovers on top of the van and drove off...oops. Oh well. Now we are home, watching Curious George, and then I hope she will take a good nap since she didn't have one yesterday. I think we will just take it easy today...not try too much, since you can see how are day is going. But our morning wasn't all bad at all...we had fun shopping, Emma got some sidewalk chalk and her coloring book. I got some yummy peanut butter cereal, and a candle for those pesky mosquitoes.  My food was delicious, they didn't charge us for Emma's breakfast, and Caitlin paid for our meal. Most importantly I had a change of clothes for Emma, which I was very glad to have with me.

This is from Tuedsy night, we went to Chick-fil-a for dinner.

Planting flowers

So I am in a Moms and Mentors group with the chapel/PWOC and in our last book one of the things they talked about was intentionally adding beauty to your home/life by teaching your kids what brings you joy...that was a weird way to explain it. But anyway, she said she had afternoon tea parties with candles and classical music...after cleaning of course. For Steven this means helping Emma do pull-ups. For me, we planted flowers. I do love to cook, and I do let her do that with me, but it is so nice out and I saw some wild flowers out, so we went and bought some flowers to put in our pots...since housing won't let me dig up my ugly bushes. :( We had fun, and got very dirty. Emma loved that she had her own watering can and shovel to use to scoop the dirt.

Pull-ups and other silliness

Daddy likes to help Emma do pull-ups...or any other exercise. And she is also super cute doing it. :). We also went to housing's fire prevention thing in the park.

Steven won these at our white elephant Bunco night. Emma loves them.

Zoo take two

We went to the zoo right when we first moved here, but since Steven had the whole week off, we thought it would be fun to go again. We tried to get Emma to go down for a nap before we went, but she apparently wasn't tired...until 20 minutes before we got there. She was cranky until  she started playing on the playground. Then she started having fun. I think she would have enjoyed it more if she hadn't been so tired, but she was fairly pleasant the whole outing. She did do her best to stay awake though, she barely stopped to watch the animals...once she saw them she was on to the next one! She loved the carousel this time, and then we even got dinner at Texas Roadhouse...mmmm! To add on to Steven's good day...we stopped at In and Out for lunch on the way, and he picked up a lat attachment for his cable machine in his gym. We are all very exhausted, but it was a good day.
In and Out Burger
Sliding was fun.
Checking out the flamingos..."Hi birds, I'm Emma!"
It was more fun this time since she is a little older.
Trying to see all by herself.
We let her run the whole time...she ought to be TIRED.
Checking out some fish...

Turtles
She loved the giraffes....but was more enamored by the squirrel she found.
We tried to get her to stay and watch the lions...
The cubs were playing with each other.
Looking for the tiger...Rarrr.
Zebras.
Looking at the Chimps.
Where are they?
Up high!
Watching the coin go down.
No, we did not let her get the lion.
Also...Steven looked at that picture and said, "My arms are getting big."

Texas Roadhouse...ahhh.
Even though we had to come home in Sacramento rush hour traffic, it was worth it. We all had a good day. Before we left Emma kept saying, "We go see animals." And after we left it was, "Animals...we see the animals!" And she kept talking about all the animals we saw and making all their sounds...although we didn't see any elephants...that will have to wait for Topeka.

Chillin with Daddy

I'm Steven took Tuesday and Wednesday off...which means he has 6 days off in a row. Last Saturday Emma took a 3.5 hour nap and has been sleeping well ever since. She seems back to her normal self...and yesterday we all had a nap, so we all feel much better. Anyway, we are enjoying having Daddy home. The first picture is Emma snuggling with Daddy. I thought she might take a nap with him, but she didn't...she does think it is fun to 'lay back' and pretend though. The other pictures are of Emma playing with Daddy's new weight belt...you know how Emma loves her accessories!
