Pretty girl

Yesterday was busy: The housing maintenance guys came over to work on our tub...more on that later. Then Emma and I went  to PWOC, then she came home and napped. Half way through her nap I realized I had made an appointment to get the car registered, and we needed to get the Smog Test done before. So I woke her up and we headed to Yuba City. We got it done (although we will have to go back bc the van failed the smog test...which means we have to get that fixed before we get it retested, otherwise we don't get a license plate.) Anyway, I also had Bible study at 6, so for dinner we just went to the Pub....even though we had just been to Red Robin the night before due to the fact that I cannot cook rice to save my life and the Commissary was closed. But anyway...Emma was cold last night at the Pub, so I loaned her my scarf...which we then kept trading back and forth. It wasn't really that cold, she just liked playing with it.
Oh... And she picked out her own bow this morning.

Reading to herself.
Off for a run...it was a chilly 45 degrees.

Mommy went shopping

Today was a day I have been looking forward to...going to Maurice's. I went with a new friend from the Moms and Mentors group, and we had a blast. We went to Maurice's...she had never been and was quite pleased...I felt at home. It was wonderful to shop and try on clothes, just look around at everything and not be rushed or distracted. Then we went to Ross and Target...browsing is such a luxury to moms of toddlers. We ended at Panera for lunch....I even had a salad, which is a miracle. But it was so fun to get out. When I got home Emma inspected my bags to see what I brought her...however, all I bought for her was some floss picks. (She really does use them.) But she liked my scarf and tried it on. She has wanted to wear one ever since we put one on our play dough snowman. Here are some pictures from the last few days, and Emma trying on my scarf.

She was totally serious about this bowl on her head.

I couldn't get her to look at me.
She liked it.

Penguin Chef

Yesterday we got some more presents in the mail from Aunt Emily. We waited until this morning when Daddy got home to open them. Emma loves putting the Penguins together, taking them apart, lining them up and putting them back together... and putting them on our fingers. She also loves to dress up in her apron, hat and oven mitts. I told her that later we will do some cooking together. Sorry for all the pictures, but there were so many good ones. Oh and I'm pretty sure she thinks the tiny penguin is an accessory for her finger.

Nice outside

We I'm sorry for those of you who have been freezing, but it has been fairly nice here lately. We have all been enjoying being able to get outside. We have been going for walks, to the park and we hung a bird feeder thing outside. Emma was frustrated that the birds didn't come eat right away.
Playing on the counter
I went to look for them....this is what I found.
Out for a walk
Sorry, Emma. Sliding on your belly doesn't work well outside.
Getting the bird feeder/bell ready.
"Here you go birds! I have some food for you!"
Hang it there Daddy.
Pretty sure Pepper thought it was for her.
Then Emma wanted to play with it.
Then she was bummed when we hung it up high, mostly so we could see from inside.
Birds! Come on birds!
Chillin in Daddy's gym.
Daddy hung up all his flags.
And his Arnold poster.

Pepper's bed

When we moved here, we got rid the blankets we had been using as Pepper's bed. She didn't sleep on them much and they were kind of big and gross. But she just hasn't seemed to have a place, so we finally broke down and got her one of those nice big fancy dog beds. She will be ten this year and although she still pulls me when we run, she is getting old. Hopefully this makes it a little easier.

Happy New Year!

We woke up on New Year's Day and I thought it would be fun to get donuts...so we headed to Krispie Kreme. Emma chose chocolate frosting with sprinkles. She insisted on finishing it...then was too full for lunch and didn't take a nap since she crashed on the ride home. Oops...next time we will have think that through a little better. And since we haven't had our normal activities due to the holiday season, we have been inviting friends over to play with all of Emma's cool new toys...which just keep coming!
Chocolate with sprinkles
It's dewishus!
Towards the end she just started grabbing chunks with frosting and sprinkles.
Mmm....it's good!
We thought she was awake, but she just fell asleep reading.
new ball pit and new slide.
Owen loved the ball pit too...and especially the slide...video later.
Another ball pit that Daddy bought her....with tunnel
We discovered a flat tire during our run, Emma said she would fix it.
