I Love Daddy

Daddy came home early.....Yay!
There is a smile back there, but she wouldn't let us take out her pacifier.

Play time

Today was rainy again, so we stayed inside and did LOTS of laundry. We took a break for play time, though.
Mom...I can grab ahold of this!

FLASH

Watching the rain outside.

This is what she mostly did...eat her toy.
I have been trying to put her to sleep in her crib for her naps. It is not as cold during the day, and she doesn't seem to mind where she takes her naps. Hopefully soon we can transition to her crib all the time.

Rainy, sleepy day

Emma has been a sleepy, poopy girl today. :) I decided to stay home today since it is rainy, and she seems to still be recovering from her shots. (She has a low grade fever.) I have started her scrapbook with my free time.
Here we are yesterday, in our pink pajamas.
Once again, if my camera was faster, these would be smiles.
Watching her mobile while I wash a poopy diaper.

4 month shots

This morning Emma went to the doctor for her 4 month shots. She did pretty good considering she was being kept awake during her usual nap time. She cried, but did better after nursing....and Daddy distracting her. She weighs 11lbs 12oz (9th%), and is 23 1/4 inches long (12%). The doctor said her random pooping was fine, and to give her tylenol (not numbing stuff) if her teething is bothering her.  This picture is from yesterday watching football, but it is basically what she is doing now. (And hopefully will be doing all day, if the neighbors would stop drilling for oil in the bathroom!)
Love snuggling with my girl.
On a side note, she went to the nursery yesterday. She was crying when I picked her up...apparently she had just started, and she was tired and hungry...but I can't help thinking that it wasn't a tired or hungry cry. It was a sad, sniffling, where is my mommy? cry. It may take both of us some time to get used to her staying with all these other people on a regular basis. (Next Monday she is staying with a lady in our church who has home daycare; it is also where we go for small group...I will be going back to the Pregnancy Help Center. In a couple weeks I start my Precept Bible study at church again, they have childcare there. Then there is the nursery on Sundays and a babysitter for date night.) Sigh. We both need to get used to it before Steven leaves anyway. :(

Snow day

Today we got a little snow...it is very pretty, and is already melting. But you know Texas....Steven didn't have to be at work until 10. However, he didn't' find out until he was on his way to his car. Oh well. When Emma and I got up, he suggested trying to see if she would rollover...this is what we got. Keep watching until the end. Happy Friday!

Teething

Emma is officially teething. Here she is gnawing on one of her many teething rings that we rotate in the freezer, along with some wet wash cloths....and our fingers of course, but they don't go into the freezer.

I  have been trying to get Emma into some kind of bedtime routine...read a book, sing a song, pray with daddy and go nite nite. It usually works to at least get her sleepy. Last night we did it after her bath, and she fell asleep. However, when I went in to get ready for bed, I woke her up. Big mistake. She was then wide awake and happy for the next 3 hours. Ugh. SO we skyped with my family and had tummy time on the ipad. It wore her out and she went to sleep about 11. Hopefully we can start  putting her to bed in her crib soon, so we don't have to worry so much about waking her. (Her room gets too cold at night now. We bought a space heater, but it was so loud and it turned itself on and off every couple of minutes...it will be going back to the store.)

Moosie

Happy Wednesday Morning....BARK! BARK! BARK! That is what I woke up to. Pepper is very upset about the movers next door and has been barking at them all morning. Oh well. He is an intel student, just married, and they leave in March.  So Emma and I got up....I tried to get her to roll over (again, since I missed it the first time), but she then reminded me I forgot to feed her. Oops. So I fed her and then laid her on the bed with my old Moosie, who I think I name Holly---as I do everything I get for Christmas.

We had her out yesterday trying to distract Emma. I think she (Emma) is teething. She was inconsolable yesterday, didn't even want to nurse. The cold washcloth seemed to help though. Poor kiddo. Anyway....later than night she rolled over, and Steven and I both missed it. Hopefully she will do it again today! We might even try to get a video, now that we know she can do it.
