Emma’s scrapbook

I have finally finished Emma’s scrapbook! I am finishing up our Idaho scrapbook next. And I’m realizing I thing I had plans for another scrapbook...we will see if I do it now or wait. I’m considering keeping my scrapbooking stuff in storage, so I can work on the last one later...I’ve already bought stuff for it, but I haven’t started on it yet. I haven enjoyed working on it, but I don’t like to do it all the time. It taking up my whole dining room and table.
But for now...here are the pages of Emma’s scrapbook!
I realize now that the word ‘baby’ is on there 3 times. Oh well.

She was not 19 inches long...but she was wiggly, so that’s what they put. She was 18ish.
These are from my baby shower in Kansas.

The picture above is from our baby shower inTexas at the Fishers. It was great fun, as are all parties that Jennifer does. Steven had to wear an apron with a watermelon under it...while hanging baby clothes on a clothes line, putting on makeup and separating an egg. He was pretty good at all 3, much to their surprise. But it was still hilarious.

Steven switched from teaching the basic fire course to teaching Rescue about the time we got pregnant. We told people about the time he was teaching his first class. They were so generous...went in to get us a gift card, a family figurine,  and all wrote in this card! Seriously, we were so blessed by everyone!

Just realized I put some of these pictures in there twice. Oops.

This party was actually not on her birthday. This was her second 1st birthday party...once again thrown by Jennifer. She threw her this party literally the day after Steven got home from Afghanistan. Jennifer did a much better job than me at the first birthday thing, glad we have these memories as I have no pictures from the party I threw.

So as I was finishing her scrapbook this week, I came across some pictures that I just couldn’t resist putting in here! You see Guen holding Emma right before they moved to Alaska...Emma has never met her since, and I long for the day they do! And Daddy holding Emma at Guen’s second birthday.

These were pictures taken by our worship leader’s wife when Emma was 9 days old.

This is not in her first year, technically, but I had to put it in!

Scrapbooking

I do not really scrapbook anymore now that I have the blog. However, I have 2 scrapbooks that I never finished. I want to finish them so I can get rid of my scrapbooking stuff...it takes up a lot of room. First, is Emma’s first year scrapbook. I started doing each month, but stopped in the middle of the second month. But I am enjoying looking at old pictures! So here are a few!

Having the blog makes scrapbooking easier...I just go to the dates I want and viola! I loved her face in this one!

I love seeing her personality come out so young...even if it’s just my imagination. She was like 10months in this picture...cleaning started early.

I have lots of pictures of Daddy being silly with Emma!

But this is probably one of my favorites!!!

Weekend at home

I really should take more pictures during the week...since that seems to be when our excitement is. This weekend we just stayed home. We had 2 birthday parties and went to a friends house another night last week. On top of that there are lots of moving parts in the process of moving overseas that have been stressing me out, but they are being figured out, slowly but surely.  I figure we won’t have too many quiet weekends at home in the near future either, so we are enjoying them now. Emma played a lot, and we Skyped a lot.

Being silly at the Tangen’s on Friday night

Waiting at the airport on Saturday morning when she got up.

Sunday night...she was pretending to be a mom at the airport.

Skyping....she and her kids are Skyping with their Daddy.

She also moved a lot when she plays....I suppose it’s a pretty accurate picture of life as a military kid.

3 day weekend

We had another 3 day weekend last weekend. We had planned to go to the zoo, but we just stayed home.  We skyped a lot, went for a bike ride, watched the Olympics, baked, and cleaned! My adrenal fatigue has been really bad lately, so my energy level is pretty low...and Emma almost always prefers to stay home and play. One day we will do fun things again....

My new mouse pad

Pretty standard picture.. Emma and Daddy eating ice cream and donuts...she brings at least one version of this home almost every day.

We went for a bike ride when it was super nice out on Saturday

It was in the 70 I think, but now it’s cold again...we even had a frost last night!
We had a picnic snack.

She keeps trying to tell me that Grandma Connie taught her how to knit. She is in this phase where I basically believe almost nothing she says.

All the princesses gathered around baby Jesus.

We made a French toast recipe out of her cookbook. It took forever, since it was apparently an overnight French toast recipe. We ended up eating it for lunch. It was ok.

Monday was Noah’s birthday. We went over for cake and to play. Emma is glad he has a baby sister... she loves babies and isn’t the only girl!
