Purple buddies and super girl

Apparently today was purple day. So we of course took a picture.
Purple buddies!

Crazy day

Emma and I had a very busy day. Pretty sure we were non-stop most of the day. We had Bible study, Landon's birthday party, Awana and some errands thrown in. We were glad for bedtime tonight.
Landon's party was a superhero theme
Everyone got capes
Posing for a picture
It was cray hair night at Awana...at first not so crazy.
But then we found pipe cleaners. And Ada came, too! And we stopped at McDonalds first. :)

Growing UP

Emma always wants me to measure her...she is just sure she is getting bigger. Usually it's barely noticeable. But this week she grew. Seriously, it couldn't have been that long since I last measured her, and she grew at least a half inch! So to all those who said her extreme tiredness was because of a growth spurt, you are correct! She is also acting older, which for me is more exhausting, because she wants to do EVERYTHING herself. It dawned on me because the most common phrase out of her mouth right now is "I want to do it," or "I can do it myself!" or some variation of that. I know it's a recurring phase, but now that I have realized we are here again, I'm trying to find more things for her to help with or better ways to communicate when she can't actually help...and not freak out when she helps herself.
In other news, Pepper collapsed a half mile into our run/walk today. I think she just had a cramp, but I took her to the vet. Her lungs sound "harsh," so we are going to look into a chest X-ray for her to make sure there are no issues. Growing up is becoming getting older for Pepper.
In the midst of our craziness today, we painted our nails!

Day of Rest

Emma continued to be very tired last week...but refused to take naps. That meant I had a 4 year old literally bouncing off the walls...or beds, couches, slide, or anything else she could use to stay awake and not sit still. Mommy needed a break. So yesterday I finally out-lasted her attempts to stay awake and she took a nap...AND afterwards she went to Ada's house to play while I went shopping. It was much needed break, although apparently not long enough for Emma. ;) She usually comes running to hug me, "Mommy!" when I come to pick her up. This time she said, "Noooo!" And started to cry. (They were in the middle of movie.) So I stayed and chatted...And did I mention they also fed us ribs for dinner?
Good day, but not many pictures.
So peaceful when she sleeps...unless you are in the same bed...then she may or may not kick you in the head.
Wearing one of her new shirts. And my new shoes.

Busy days, tired girl

We have done lots of fun things this week. It seems to have worn Emma out. Wednesday she played at Ada's for a little while I went grocery shopping, then we had McDonalds on the way to Awana. Thursday we went to Riley's house to play and had a blast. Afterwards she had dance class, and fell asleep on my lap for the second day in a row, this time at 6pm. Today we went to Roseville after preschool and got some Panera before doing some shopping. It was fun, but now we are tired, again.
Pretending to nap with Pepper.
Actually sleeping.
Excited to eat at McDonalds.
Jumping at Riley's
Swinging
All tuckered out.
Silliness at Paneras
She loves sitting by the fireplace.

Busy weekend

Emma and I fit a lot into our weekend. We started Saturday by cleaning up the house and the patio, the header over to the track. The idea was that she could ride her bike while I ran. It worked for maybe one lap. She just gets too distracted. She ended up in the van snacking and waving to me and other random stuff. In the afternoon we had Logan and Ashlynn over. We made dog treats, played school and Magna Tiles, watched Moana, ate dinner and went to the park. We ended the day staying up late talking to Daddy. :) After going to bed late, Emma didn't get up until 8:30!! After church we headed to Roseville to do some shopping. But first we needed to eat. Emma chose 'fancy lunch' over Chipotle...we are at Cheesecake Factory.  Not my best decision, but we survived. We did have fun shopping though, Emma was so excited to get some new clothes. :) I was glad JC Penny now has shopping  carts! It makes shopping with a preschooler much more fun. :)
Happy girl.
They have random workout machines all over running trails on base, and at the track. Emma saw the other guy at the track working out, and decided to try it out.
Making dog treats.
Watching Moana.
Dessert was pumpkin pie, whipped cream, and sprinkles. They ate the whipped cream and sprinkles but not the pie.
Sorry for the closed eyes, but this is the best I got at our fancy lunch. Magazines helped us wait.
Calming down after getting frustrated. She was 'texting' Daddy on her calculator. Apparently he told her she neede a little rest. :)

Hair by Emma

I was beyond exhausted today...so by the end of the day I just played with Emma and let her do my hair...I mean I just had to sit there, so it worked out. And the I let her take my picture.
She told me to put my hand on my heart and say, "God Almighty."
The messy look?
Pepper wanted attention, but she did not want to dress up.

Ballet

Oh how we love dance class. Lots of friends, pink sparkles, skirts, and twirls.
All ready!

Normal days

We have been having pretty normal days lately, but still just trying to take one day at a time...and get to bed on time. We have been enjoying the nice weather by going to the park and for runs/walks...and cleaning out the garage.
Pepper was exhausted after our 4 mile run last week. I think she is getting too old for those.
Ada and Emma, suing with tiny little toys at the park.
Emma reading to "Emma."  I have been letting her have my 'observation worksheets' which are printed out texts, and her job is to circle "God" everytime she sees it. She is getting good at it.
Watering our flowers. We planted flowers and spinach. She does better than me at remembering toaster them.

Field Trip and friends

Yesterday Emma's class went on a field trip to Winco, a grocery store in Roseville. I got to go, too. They got some treats, and their teacher got them all pizza. It was fun and not as exhausting as the last one.
Silly hats
They were all trying to lift this
But a forklift came in and did it for them
Ada got to help decorate cupcakes
Pizza pizza
Her new thing is taking her phone with her everywhere. I think she was FaceTiming with Grandma. Earlier she talked to Daddy all morning.
We stopped to play at spark in Roseville. We were the only people there who only spoke English.
Emma and Raelynn as mermaids!

Cooking, painting, playing...sleeping

We have been enjoying the sunshine the last few days here...going to the park, going for runs, riding bikes, walking home from school. We have also been tired and not sleeping great, so doing some things at home, too.
Cracking eggs for a pumpkin pie. She really wanted to have pumpkin pie with Michelle and Raelynn. However, we have yet to eat any of it.
Raelynn and Emma watching a movie after dinner. (Raelynn got to enjoy the pie.)
We found Master Chef Junior on Fox. It's ok, Gordon Ramsey is overly dramatic and borderline verbally abusive on the adult version, hoping the kids version is better. Notice Emma mixing something in her kitchen for me in the background.

Painting nails. (And the toys in the background are on their way to someone else.)
Obstacle course at school.
On our walk home from school.
Sleepy ballerina.
