Happy Halloween!

Emma was so excited to go trick-or-treating tonight. And I was glad the rain held off until we were done. These things are so much fun now that she is older, and can walk and stay awake through the whole thing. :) It took her a few houses to warm up, and a pep talk that if she didn't start being polite we would go home...she refused to speak to anyone at the first 5 houses, even though she knew 2 of them. But she caught on and loved seeing all the other kids do it, then she really had fun. She kept asking for her friend Ashlynn, so we found them and did some more trick-or-treating. When she had a friend it was much more fun, they went up together and it was so cute. She was so worn out at the end (we walked around housing for 2 hours), that she could barely keep her eyes open for a bedtime story.
Cinderella all ready to go!
Ashlynn (Rapunzel) and Emma
They had so much fun, trick-or-treating on base so fun because everyone is out.

Fall is here, and playing with dolls

Well it has been raining all week, and it looks and feels like fall. There is a big tree in the fenced-in courtyard area by Emma's classroom that is losing its leaves and the kids are having a blast playing in them.

Yesterday was crazy hair day at school.
We had fun.
Doesn't everyone teach their dolls how to clean?
She was being my fair godmother.
She made me a fish to go to the ball in!
Having a tea party in her beautiful house
She calls this grandma's house
She got these in a kids meal
She has tons of fun dressing them up
Being a cat in Pepper's bed.
Apparently she wasn't as ready to get up as she thought. We had a rough night.

Halloween cookies

When we lived in Idaho, some of Steven's friends wanted to decorate Halloween cookies. So we had a bunch of young firefighters over to decorate cookies. And we have done it several years since...it's a fun, silly memory. Emma is getting to the age when she can actually do these things and it's fun, which makes for more fun memories. :)
Emma's cookies were 3-D. She really took advantage of the candy corn.
She did a pretty good job...no big messes.

Upside down, but these are mine and Emma's.
These are Steven's. His were
fancy.

Random pictures from this week.

All ready for picture day! She wanted her hair just like the girl on the order form.

Her homework was to dictate a story and draw a picture.
Putting lotion on my feet when we were doing our nails.
She has been a tired girl this week. I wish I could figure out why she isn't sleeping well.
She has a puppy in her tummy.
Sweet potato bacon quiche. It turned out pretty good.
My little helper. She loves to help me cook!
And clean. I made her do some dishes this week as a 'punishment,' but she liked it so much she has been doing dishes every chance she gets. She also picked up the living room 2 nights in a row and then cleaned her room...all without being asked. Whose child is this?

Running with Emma

TYesterday Emma and I went running at the track on base. She loves to run and workout with me, but Hasn't gotten to much lately because of preschool.
All ready to go!
My running buddy.
She ran 5 laps!

Carving pumpkins

Emma wanted to put a light in her pumpkin and Daddy obliged.
Gross!
Tongs are less messy
Cutting
All done!

Dinners with Daddy

Steven works 48 hour shifts, and we usually go over for dinner on the second night. So Friday Emma and I tried to go to the Fall Festival, but it was just too much...too many people, loud music, and McGruff. She did like the animals outside to pet: bunnies, sheep, chickens, ducks, etc...but it was raining, so just kind of a bummer. So we just took dinner over early...which was nice because then she went to bed early. :) But she loves to play with Daddy while we are there, looking at the fire trucks, playing outside, playing ball, climbing on him.
Hang on tight!

Pumpkin Farm, part 2: field trip

On Wednesday morning, Emma's class went to the Pumpkin Farm on a field trip. She got to ride on a bus, go on a hay ride, ride the train, pick out a pumpkin, and more.
I did not go, but I have some wonderful friends that went and they took these pictures for me. :)
Ada and Emma
Cheese!
Pumpkin (her strange smile is a result of her runny nose)
Hay ride!
Riley and Emma.
Pearlena (Ada's mom), and Ada and Emma...and some other kids that I don't know.
The infamous Big Bad Wolf...the worst part of Emma's trip. Apparently it scared her enough she cried and they took her out. 😥
