Playing with Owen and outside

Today Owen and Hannah came to play. We always love it when they come over, even Pepper seems to like it...they are dog people. Emma has enjoyed getting to play with/mother Hannah, as well as play and be crazy with Owen.
This afternoon we went to the library and then to the Day for Kids, a fun event for kids hosted by the Youth Center on base. It was 104 degrees, but they had water slides, water games, snow cones, and  ice water/food...all for free. Emma especially enjoyed fishing and the indoor rock climbing wall. She did NOT enjoy Sparky, and her terror caused us to leave...but it was ok, we were ready for some AC.
Side walk chalk.
Helping Hannah with her shoe.
Snow cone.
Fishing
She played a game and got a lollipop and a balloon.
She loved the rock climbing wall.
She did it several times.
Frog who came back...same time as last night. But this time we got him outside.

Getting back into the swing of things

We are doing most of our normal stuff...running, cleaning, going to the park, the pool, going to the commissary a million times because I forgot something. I've taken a few pictures, so here they are! (Also Emna got way too excited when we passed the toilet cleaning supplies/tools in the commissary today. I did let her clean a toilet. She was very excited. Oh, and then she asked for a pink smoothie over pink chocolate after dinner. Whose kid is this?)
She loves her noodle!
Practicing her floating.
Yesterday she got strawberries with chocolate on them, but then stole my smoothie.
Playing at the park, before 9am because after that it's too hot.
Having quiet time/Bible Study. I call it quiet time so she understands she needs to be quiet. She wanted to do her own Bible study...it was not so quiet. Very chatty actually. And that was just the dedication page!

Bye bye Papa Steve

Papa Steve drove us to California, then flew back to Kansas on Saturday. We had a good summer with everyone, but it is always good to be home. We are slowly starting to get back into our routine...thankfully the transition seems to have been easier than it was at the beginning of the summer. And we can't wait until Steven can be here with us. :) home just isn't the same without him.
Here are a few pictures from Saturday morning, right before Papa Steve left.
Emma decided to ride her bike.
She strangely did much better than when we were in KS.
Headed to the airport! Emma always wants everyone to sit beside her.

Home sweet home

E are so glad to be home. We made it in about 3:00 Wednesday afternoon. We are mostly unpacked...still finding places for things, cleaning, etc. I was going to go through Emma's toys...again, but she is having so much fun playing with her old toys that are new again, that I think I will wait. Yesterday we stayed around the house except to play at the park and go to dance class. :) Today we have a couple errands to run, so we will head to Roseville. Pepper especially has been enjoying being home, she is a happy dog. It is definitely nice to be out of the car!
Polly and her dress up dolly.
She fell asleep right before we got to California!
She missed some pretty scenery.
Although she did wake up for the curvy mountain roads.
Band-aid dolly and the dolly high chair! She is so happy to be back to all her toys. :)

Travel Days 1 & 2

Tomorrow we will finally be home. We are so excited. The last 2 mornings when I told Emma we would be in hotels at night, not California, she cried. Tomorrow morning I can finally tell her we are going to California!
We left at 7:15 Monday morning, and drove straight to Goodland, KS. (It was  hard having to tell her we were still in KS.) we had lunch at a park, then headed to FE Warren AFB, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. It was a nice stay. They even had a park outside TLF. And a live wandering pronghorn outside the Front Desk.
Emma has been sharing my bed when we travel. We brought her bed rail, but apparently it's unnecessary as she stays as humanly close as possible to me, at all times...no matter how many times I move her over. I also had to take her leg off my back, her arm off my face, oh, and snuggling with Emma means she hugs your neck...so it can be hard to breathe. But if you remember the first time she ever slept in the same bed as me was our trip to KS, I guess I can put up with a little 'octopus-ing,'she is pretty cute. Plus I forgot her bear to snuggle with.
Anyway, she woke up Tuesday morning at 5am. Our sleep is just off. She did nap a little in the car, but still, I know she is tired. We left at 7 again, made a few more stops than yesterday, but they were shorter. Today was our long day, made even longer due to lots of construction. Wyoming will have some nice roads. So the extra stops were good for us to get out and stretch. We also had great scenery today...we passed through the Rockies, by the Great Salt Lake, and some salt flats. She also loves all the windmills.
So far...Emma has done ok. She has had way more frustrating moments than last trip, but she was exhausted even before we left. I did let her finally watch a movie this evening on the last leg. But she has been enjoying all her new toys, books, ect.
One last picture with Grandma Joy.
Group hug before we left.
Finger puppets...Emma calls them Mario and the princess.
Snuggling with Polly.
They had one swing in the shade.
Our little kitty.
Always a cleaner.
Dressing 'her lady.'
Oh Pepper.
So sweet.
She found a place for Polly while she goes potty.
Checking out the Great Salt Lake
We stopped at a rest stop, and got out to explore. Another sign said these were the. Wendover Salt Flats.
Pretty clouds
My snuggle buddy.

Cheese!

So I have to delete everything off my phone as my storage is full...but I couldn't resist doing a post full of Emma's cheese faces. So here you go...my favorites from my phone.
Happens soooo much.
Cheese Papa Steve!
