Happy birthday, Emma!

Today Emma turned 3. She was super excited, first thing she asked if we could 'make her birthday' (cake), and open presents. So before breakfast, we baked a cake. I tried to give her some toast with sprinkles, but she wasn't interested, she just wanted cake. So after Daddy got home, we went out for donuts. The we headed to Target to get her Minion. We also let her play in the toy isle...we tried to let her pick out her own toy, but that is a hard job, so we stuck with the Minion. It is almost as big as she is. After Target, we went to McDonalds, as donuts did not fill up Mommy and Daddy. Emma played with a little boy in the play place and had a great time. Then we came home for a nap. (Last night we had the PWOC kick-off at chapel, and Emma and I were at the chapel for 7 hours. She didn't get to bed until 10, we are still exhausted. But it was a good night.) so after nap we went to the store to get stuff for dinner, which we didn't end up eating...we had leftovers bc I was tired, we skyped with our entire family, and Emma really just wanted cake. So we hurriedly ate, then did a very pink cake and opened presents. Emma had a very good day. She kept singing happy birthday to herself, me and anyone else who was around. I had thought it would have been fun to have party, but we are so exhausted, I am glad we didn't.
So at 3, Emma is...spunky and energetic, she often wakes up before the sun and doesn't stop until I put her to bed. She loves to pretend that she is doing things like us, like going to work, church or the dentist, or putting on makeup. She makes messes just so she can clean them up, bc she likes to use brooms and wipes like Mommy. She loves to workout with me, running laps in the gym after I get done with my run. She loves to dance and sing, especially when we do it with her. She finally likes baths, but is still scared of the potty. She loves to snuggle, be chased and tell Daddy every possible detail of her life while he was at work for 2 days the second he walks in the door. She knows her alphabet and numbers, and can even sign some of the letters and a few words. I never get tired of hearing her say " I love you" or telling me all that she has learned about God, "He is holy, He is love. He is Lord. Jesus loves me, He is God's Son, He is alive! He is coming back!" She dearly loves her family, and misses them. When someone is sad she says it is because they miss their family. And her favorite part of every day is going to Daddy's work, even if we didn't go that day. Oh how we love this little girl!

Pretty

Last weekEmma was at another little girl's house and they had little princess dresses. I put Emma in Snow White....adorable, but I forgot to take a picture. So I saw this on the Beale Yardsale page so I bought it. It is supposed to be a 2T, but it is a little small, but still cute.

I have trying new things with her hair, like using my hair ties for her ponytail. This way I can redo it and it doesn't hurt. Getting ready for our run!

Mr. Potato head

Potato head is a favorite toy of EmmA's, she calls him, 'Mr. Tater head.' She loves to rearrange all is parts, and she even loves putting him away in her 'pack-pack.' However, yesterday while I was in the shower, Emma decided that he needed a bath. (I've stopped letting her watch a show during my shower bc of the inevitable tantrum that followed, but I need to come up with a new idea rather than just letting her play.) I managed to intercept just in time to keepthess on the counter rather than on the floor.

My kangaroo

Imagine a tired, emotional, almost-3yo, crying out pathetically, "My Kanga-ROO!" And me, laughing, bc what she wanted was not a kangaroo , but in fact her Llama llama doll that she had left on the counter. It was probably funnier to me because I was also very tired, but I still laugh when she calls this her kangaroo. Silly girl.
She also exclaimed earlier, "my kangaroo has a bottom!"
And here she is waving to daddy tonight.
She wanted to wear her 'pack-pack' too.

Old toys

I have been trying to clean some stuff out of the garage, and Emma has found a box of old toys. They are new to her and she is having a great time playing with them the second time around.
Guitar
Camera, or "my smile" as she calls it. She threw this on the ground tonight and it no longer makes sounds...I'm not too disappointed.

She also loves this unicorn kitty thing.

And here she is all ready for church...or the park bc we were ready like two hours ahead of time.

New sunglasses

Yes, we are still here. Sorry I haven't been blogging, we have been super busy...and will be the next two weeks at least. PWOC kicks off this Thursday, and then I have a workshop to do, Emma's birthday is Friday, with our anniversary a week from Wednesday, but after that hopefully it will slow down, or at least be routine. But here are a couple pictures until I can do more tomorrow.
Emma's sunglasses were very scratched so we used these one morning before we could her new ones.
New sunglasses...they looked smaller in the store, I promise.
She is finally learning to put them on herself, right-side-up.

Planet Earth

After Daddy left tonight, we watched more Planet Earth. She loves to see the animals, then goes and finds them in her book or the stuffed version and holds them up to the TV...like bird, here you are!

Here you are, bird, I found you!

Waving to daddy

The Apparently we had a fun day because I took a lot of pictures.
Emma loves to wave to Daddy as he leaves, and she has to watch him go until she can't see him anymore so she can see which way he went. Tonight he started his EMT class at the local college. It is Mon/Wed from 6-10 until December. So we had an early dinner and got early night-night kisses. She said she wanted to go with him, just like she always wants to go workout with him, but we waved bye-bye instead. And tomorrow we will wave again as he goes to work.
All ready to go.
He always stops to wave.
Picture isn't very good, but she is waving...it was too hot for her to stand in her normal spot.
Watching him go.
