A few extras

When we got home, Emma found this shirt from Grampy-Loha. I hadn't put it on her yet because it is a little big, but she wanted to wear it. It says, "She is but little, but she is fierce." I may be biased, but she is the cutest thing in the whole world, no matter what she is wearing.
I think she was trying to be fierce.

Wearing her new backpack that I got her at the JBF sale.

She had to go check herself out.

I will let you guess what she is doing in this picture.

Bishop's Pumpkin Farm

In Wheatland, about 7 miles from us, is Bishops Pumpkin Farm. Usually, when you think about a pumpkin farm, you think about a pumpkin patch...where you pick out pumpkins. In Grape Creek outside of San Angelo they had a pumpkin patch where you could play and take pictures, it was basically in someone's front yard. This pumpkin farm is HUGE. There is a hay ride, train, pig shows, a maze for children and adults, lots of food, pony rides, zip line, play areas and a carousel, and that is all I can remember. It is almost more like going to the zoo or a fair. Anyway, there is a lot to do. We went this morning with MTOC....a few other moms and tots. We saw the pig show, waved at the conductor on the train, played, ate a pumpkin apple muffin, and rode the carousel....which Emma was DYING to do ever since we walked in. (But of course once we got on it she was scared to death.) We were there for two hours, but you could easily stay all day. We brought home some cider and deep dish apple pie for Daddy.

All ready to go!

I thought this is what I wanted.

Nope!

This was better. She kind of sat scared like this with me the whole time, nodding her head when asked if it was fun.

Playing on the tires was more fun.

She kept wanting to sit up here.

Riding a horse/cow thing.

Walking around the fort.

Old pictures

I still cannot find my camera that Emma had, threw, or hid. And the one I like the best I cannot get to work. So I am down to my third camera, which is still a nice one, and thankfully I have three...who would have known I would keep using them all? Anyway, I charged it up last night knowing that we were headed to the pumpkin farm today. And when I got on to look at the pictures, I found lots of good old ones that I hadn't seen in a while, so I thought I would post a few. These are from last summer when we were home. Enjoy!
At Uncle Alex's graduation.

Enjoying Grandma's fan.

That was a BIG bunny.

Don't ask. I don't know.

Do I look cool?

Her first football game.

Why weren't there this many candles on MY cake? I like this one better.

I tasted better, too. (Even though it was the same one.)

Chillin with Uncle Alex.

Grandma Connie, do you remember how much she 'thought' she wanted to go to work with you?

Working out with Mom.

Emma had my camera yesterday so now I can't find it. But here she is in some warm clothes...it was chilly this morning!

Rainy Day

I have been waiting for today for months...months, people. It finally rained. San Angelo seems to have gotten quite a bit of rain since we left, but California is in a bad drought...especially since there is so much produce being grown around here, and there are several bad fires. (Although, so far no one is saying that we only have so many months of water left, like in TX.) I think the rain probably made it to the King Fire, at least the lower temps and higher humidity helped. Thank you, Lord, for the rain. Here is Emma in her raincoat...we went outside to play a little, since Emma getting to see rain is about like some kids getting to see snow. She kept saying, "It's raining. It's raining."
It's raining!

Dressed nice and warm for our cool day, high of 73.

Forts with Daddy

The King Fire, which at last count was over 90,000 acres, has been burning pretty good the past few days. (By comparison, Steven said the Wildcat Fire that he worked on north of San Angelo was about 250,000 acres.) It is south of Grass Valley, so to our East. Depending on the wind direction, our skies have been pretty smoky lately. Thankfully, yesterday the Lord allowed us a break, and we saw blue skies again! We were very happy. We also had  a wildland on base yesterday, started by a spark from some overhead electrical wires. It was across from Beale Lake/Commander's housing, for those who know where that is. It is possible that fire started smoking back up again today, because it was smoky by the chapel this morning during PWOC, but had cleared by the time we go out. I will have to ask Steven to find out for sure. I am glad for the cleaner air...it was starting to smell all smoky INSIDE our house, too. But it was fun to get to watch the firefighters at work yesterday, since we don't often get to see them in action. (Steven was off yesterday though.) Anyway...

I have been getting to run errands by myself more often since Steven is home during the day. It is wonderful. Yesterday I went to the commissary, and when I came home, I found them hiding in a fort/tent. Emma is a very loud hider. :)

Average smokiness....it is worse in the AM, clears a little in the PM.

Coming out to steal snacks that Mom bought and take them back to Daddy.

Even Pepper wanted to get in!

New shoes

Today Emma took a short nap...not sure if she had a bad dream, but she woke up unhappy and snuggly. So we watched a little Curious George, and then on cue, the USP man dropped a box at the door...for Emma. It contained new shoes! Her favorite! And then a Frozen book! She was very happy. As she was walking around we realized the shoes light up.  I made her stomp her feet and she cried, then Daddy just sat her down and hit the bottom of her shoes, which she liked, but didn't understand as she has been going around slapping the side of her shoes trying to get them to light up. I tried to sing If You Are Happy and You Know It...stomp your feet, but she just cried. Oh well. She will figure it out someday..probably by watching some other kid with light-up shoes.

Also, you should check our weather...it is NICE outside...temperature wise, it is very foggy and smoky otherwise.
She gets her crazy hair from her mother, trust me.

Checking out new book.

New shoes.

Eating and hairstyles for the young and adorable

So when I looked at Emma's pictures, I realized they were mostly of her eating. But for good reason...the first one is of her eating a snack, if I remember correctly, of applesauce, mashed potatoes and cheese. She did end up eating them all in the same bite, too...eating is messy when you are two.
Strange two-year-old snack.

Don't you put cheese on your applesauce?

Pumpkin pancakes, YUM

Hiding from mom with pigtails

Maybe you can't tell, but this is a ponytail.

Busy day

So I didn't write much during my post today because Emma was 'helping' me. Yesterday she took a long nap, today a very short one. On Tuesdays we go to MTOC (moms of tots of the chapel, basically MOPS), and on Wednesdays we got to PWOC (Protestant women of the Chapel), which is a Bible study. So today we went to PWOC, skyped with Grandma Joy for lunch, Emma sort of napped, then we went to the slip-n-slide event hosted by housing in the park, where we watched the bigger kids splashing around. Then we came home and Emma watched Curious George while I did my online Precept study of Jonah, since Daddy was at work. Then we made dinner and took it to the fire station to have dinner with Steven. It was a busy day, which was nice bc you can get bored very easily here. In other news, there is a fire not too far from base, and this morning it smelled very smoky...you can see the smoke on the other side of the mountains, towards Grass Valley, to our East. And today we won a $50 gift card in a drawing from housing. It was for turning in our survey. I have some more pictures to upload, but it will have to wait for tomorrow. But for now, here we are accepting our gift card!

Just playing around

Just a couple pictures of our cute, silly girl.

Baking with Mom

Aunt Faith's birthday is next week, and ever since I had Martha's Vegan Peanut Butter Cupcakes, I have tried to send Faith some for her birthday...she loves peanut butter. I don't know if she likes them as much as I do, but it's like a peanut butter cookie and fluffy cake all melting in your mouth at once. It is delicious...so I might enjoy making them for her so that I can have one, too. :) Emma thought they were good even before we ate them. She said, 'Mmm, good.' as we were stirring. Too bad we were 4 minutes late to the Post Office, now she will have to wait until after her birthday to have them.
My little helper

Mmm, good.

Tea Party

Emma got a tea set the other day...and we have been having lots of fun playing tea party...and doing other silly things.
She wanted Daddy to push her in the dolly stroller...then she kept falling over on purpose.

Taking a stroll in Daddy's shoes and socks.

Playing in a box of toys.

Pigtails!

Tea party

It makes a pouring sound when she pours.

And cakes, too.

Pure adorableness.

Here you go!

She took a jumping break from her party.
