Standing up

On Wednesday, Emma decided that she liked to stand up. So she did...a lot. She pulled up on everything she could, and even tried to climb a couple things...including into the dishwasher like I did when I was her age. When I was getting ready this morning, I put her in her crib because otherwise she would crawl furiously to the bathroom and get into all kinds of things she isn't supposed to have. Anyway, when I turned around, this is what I found.

Aunt Tory

Ever since we went to Missouri with my family, Emma seems to be finally warming up to them. The other day she played with Aunt Tory on the floor. She sure loves her Aunts!

I LOVE YOU.  And I will reward you with 5 minutes of uninterrupted eye contact.

Baby in the mirror

Emma loves the baby in the mirror. Today I caught her playing with and kissing the baby in the mirror. It was super cute. :)

Book worm

Emma, unlike her parents, seems to love books. She mostly loves turning the pages at this point. Here she is in bed and sitting in Aunt Grace's baby rocking chair, reading a book.

Laundry

Grandma Joy took Emma to do laundry with her....and sat her right outside the laundry room. Emma decided that she needed to explore the laundry room, however. She thought it was great, inspecting the baskets and clothes.

Emma is a very busy girl now. She is crawling everywhere....even where she isn't supposed to go. This morning she was crawling toward a fan (with no blades), and I when I told her, "no ma'am," she waved byebye to me, and kept going. Then when I went to get her, she giggled with delight. We are going to have our hands full!

Family Reunion

This weekend Emma and I went to Missouri with my family for a family reunion...on my dad's side. My dad is from a little town called Crocker, near Ft. Leonard Wood. (The last time I went down there was in 2005 with Steven.) We all met up at My Aunt Mary and Uncle Rick's house/farm. Emma is getting less and less fond of traveling since she can move around. But she survived...and very much enjoyed when we put her down and let her explore.

Now being that this was a family reunion, we really should have taken more pictures. But we were all very busy catching up (and me dealing with my tired daughter). But here are a couple of pictures that we did manage to take.

This video is from last Sunday night when we were at the Roses. Emma had just woken up from her nap, and was trying to corral all her binkies. Why is she so cute?! I can hardly stand it.

Teething

Before you look at the pictures for today, let me say how much Emma's teeth have been bothering her. She is getting some on top, and she has been gnawing on everything...even me. :( now, having said that, I hadn't been letting her have ice cream since she was so constipated this weekend. However, i did let her have some yesterday bc i know it feels good on her gums....so she could sink her top gums into Grandpa's ice cream cone.  She had lots of fun doing it.

A whole new world

Emma has taken off in the last week....she loves exploring anything she can get her hands (mouth) on. She loves to crawl away from you and have you chase her....kind of like, Pepper.

Weekend with the Roses

This past weekend, Emma and I spent the night at the Rose's new house. It was a good time. We helped Aunt Tory celebrate her 16th birthday, and Emma finally took a nap at their house...although I had to hold her. I didn't mind though, she slept for three hours in my arms. :) Here are a couple pictures from our fun time.

Sister Date

Every other Thursday, my parents have date night. So the four (now five) of us girls also go out, on a sister date. This time we went to Perkins, where Emma ate three egg yolks. She has really been wanting to eat what is on our plates lately. When we went to IHOP, she ate Aunt Grace's egg yolks...and then we had to put her food on Aunt Grace's plate, otherwise she didn't want it. Silly girl.

So, Emma is ten months old and doesn't crawl yet. She does, however, seem to be able to get around some...when she wants. Here is a short video of her trying to get the singing, clapping bunny.

Holiday weekend

Yesterday we went swimming with Grandma Connie. Emma loves going to the pool and watching the big kids play. And the last picture is Emma after eating some homemade ice cream on the 4th of July...apparently homemade ice cream is baby crack. At least it is for Emma, the way she went after it!
