Sick day

Our toilet has gotten a work out lately. Our makeshift Christmas dinner did not work out....the ham is now in the trash and Steven is taking a sick day on the couch. On the bright side...Emma pooped in the middle of the night. (None of us got much sleep.) Here she is yesterday after church...the dress is a little big, but it was too cute to not let her wear.

She kind of looks like an evil, ornery baby here.

More pictures from our trip

We had a good day today. We went to Corner Stop on the way to church, and Emma ended up in the nursery again...maybe next week we will just start there. :) After church Steven and Emma stayed home while I went shopping....to Best Buy, Maurices, Michaels, HEB, AutoZone and the Commissary. It even rained a little bit. Tonight we had a makeshift post-Christmas dinner. Basically I got a ham on sale. It was a good day. :) Here are some more pictures from our trip.
Hangin' with Aunt Grace on Christmas Eve.

Hugging my teddy from Aunt Tory.

Grandma Joy snuggling with her 'babies.'

Pepper and her sock. She wouldn't keep her bandage on any other way.

Opening presents

We are so glad to be home. It seems so much warmer here! We slept pretty good last night...Emma has even pooped again today and is now taking a very long nap. :) These pictures are of her opening the presents from Aunt Emily.

Making muffins

Emma and I made muffins and listened to Christmas music while Steven was at work. If she has to watch me do stuff in the kitchen, she prefers being up high (rather than in her bouncy seat on the floor), so I got out her high chair. She seemed to enjoy it.
She waited until I had all the muffins in the oven and then poopsploded...so here is the outfit Aunt Grace bought her. (It says, 'Auntie says I'm super cute.') It mostly fits.
She is getting so big!

Brrrrr

Just so you guys know, we must love you because it is going to be freeeeezing in KS while we are there. Our high on Sunday is 74....yours is 37...not cool. Anyway, here is Emma 'walking,' and below it are the newborn pictures we ordered from Cami.

Tummy time and diapers...again

We have been busy enjoying having Steven home a lot. Here is Emma doing some tummy time....
My ornery girl! Today when we were out I tried to feed her (which she never turns down), but she just looked around and laughed at me, like she tricked me to get out of her carseat. She is getting very ornery and makes the same ornery face that Grandma Walter did. :)
She has been doing this a lot lately...her fingers taste good, I guess.

Getting good at keeping her head up.

Daddy hanging the diapers...hopefully they smell better!

Emma and I did some shopping today while Steven did some homework. The old ladies are out in full force! I was returning something at Hobby Lobby (sorry Aunt Grace) and I turned around and this old lady was playing with Emma's feet. ( I didn't have socks on her today as our high was like 80.) Normally I know when people are playing with my daughter....usually they ask or at least acknowledge me. This lady could have cared less about me, and even told Emma, "I just want to take you home with me for Christmas." No Ma'am, you may not have my daughter. And please step away from us as you have entered my personal space without my permission. Oh well. She is so cute I guess I can't blame them for wanting to play with her. (Emma was polite and gave her a scared, half-grin/glare.) Another lady told her she should be on TV because she was so cute...Emma was very smiley for her. :)

Santa baby

If my camera worked faster, these would be pictures of smiles. Instead we get this:

So I decided to take a video:

Emma giggles now every time I pull her shirt over her head. It's pretty cute. Steven said tomorrow he wants to take a video of it. Hopefully we get a good one!

Sleeping like a baby

Watching Mommy fold laundry and clean
 3 minutes later.....
Don't you wish you looked like this when you were sleeping?

Chewing on her fist

This is what Emma did during tummy time today:
She was super happy yesterday...seems to be smiling and giggling more...like when I put her clothes on (which she used to hate but now thinks is funny) and when the doctor put his stethoscope on her chest. She is pretty happy today, too, but is also very sleepy. When she gets up I think we will all go for a walk. Guess I better go get something done!

Cold walks, doctor's office, and sleeping like Daddy

It has been cold here...in the 20s and 30s when we wake up. Yesterday, we had the bright idea to go for a walk. Martha, Guen, and Pepper and I used to go on these three mile walks around base. So yesterday we went with Tracey and her one-year-old daughter, Elenore. (They lived in Idaho, too.) Here is Emma getting ready to go...she also had two blankets. (Pepper was SUPER excited.)
I bought her real mittens today. These things didn't work.

I called the doctor today....Emma has had this rash all over her body for about 3 days...he said it's nothing to worry about, could be several different things. But I thought I'd show you a picture. Also, they weighed her...she weighs 10lbs 11oz and is 22 inches long.

I couldn't resist taking this picture.
Going to sleep with Daddy last night.

Too many to choose from

We were trying to take pictures of Emma this weekend, for Christmas presents, but she didn't cooperate very well. Here is what we had to work with:

Her hair was crazy after bath time.

 These two are from yesterday.

Fell asleep watching football with mom.

A hat for the sun

Martha gave us this hat for Emma, to keep the sun out of her eyes. I wish my camera was faster...she was smiling before I took each of these photos.

Emma has been sleeping a lot today again. It is just fine with me because she hardly slept yesterday and I about went crazy. Steven let me go pick up dinner by myself...it is amazing what 45 minutes of alone time can do for your sanity. Also....Emma did not want to go to sleep last night. We did all our normal stuff to put her down, but she would not go to sleep. She was happy, just wanted to play, but you could see how tired she was from her eyes...they had these big, heavy red bags. So finally I put her in her bed, told her it was time for nite nite and turned out the light. I fell asleep listening to her talking to herself, woke up a half hour later and she was asleep. Steven said she just had to get all her words out. It was pretty cute to listen to.

My First Christmas

Emma seems to be more like herself today...not sleeping all the time, and not crying either. This makes me very happy. Here she is in front of the Christmas tree. Thanks to Martha who bought this onesie last year right after she found out I was pregnant. And thanks to the cloth diapers...it fits!  She was trying to sit up by herself so hard...she's going to do that one of these days. (She seems mostly uninterested in rolling over, however. I think she might just wake up and do it one day without warning.)
