Grandma Joy, Me, and Emma

We didn't take any pictures today....Emma and I were busy running errands. Then she poopsploded after we got home. Too bad....she was in a super cute outfit.  We had lots of fun this afternoon though, since Daddy came home early. We played, had some good tummy time, smiled and talked a whole bunch before we all took a family nap. It was a good Friday. Tomorrow we get our Christmas tree! I can't wait.

Emma had some gas today that made her uncomfortable. This afternoon she finally tooted a whole bunch and pooped a couple of times...then she was more like herself. So when Daddy got home, we went out on a couple errands...here is Emma getting ready.

Cleanin' fools

Emma and I have been cleaning the house today...it was messy from all of our unpacking. Between all the cleaning and the allergies that are kicking my butt, I haven't taken any pictures today. Here is one from yesterday after we went on our walk.

Notice her hat and blanket because it was a chilly 58 yesterday...and the bib for all the drool. :)

She has been very talkative today while I cleaned. In fact, she is talking right now, so I better go.

Teething

I read in my book that around 3 months is when the drool begins....and it definitely has. She gnaws on my finger when I put it in her mouth, but seems relatively happy.  She is restless when she sleeps, but then she toots a whole bunch and is fine. :) Yesterday she poopsploded while I was holding her, so we ended up giving her a bath. She giggled and laughed while Steven poured water on her belly.  It was pretty great. Here she is this morning....I swear she was smiling right before this flashed.

Exhausted

Well, we are all tired from our long journey home. Even Emma.

She fell asleep watching the Chiefs game. Although as soon as I put her down, she woke up, ate and pooped. Hopefully she goes back to sleep....I need a nap, too.

Here is Emma having fun riding Pepper, who was a very good sport and let her do it for a couple minutes. :)

 And here is Pepper giving herself a pedicure....Steven loves it when she sticks her whole foot in her mouth.

We WILL be calling maintenance today...as it was freeeezing in Emma's room last night. (Although Steven said it felt great.) The 3rd time she woke up she spit up quite a bit so I had to change her. She did not appreciate me taking her warm clothes off...until I put her in warm, cozy fleece pajamas...she has been asleep ever since. :)

So this is Emma sleeping yesterday.

Maybe you can't tell, but she has her finger in her mouth. It was cute. :)

Last night she slept really well. She woke up about 1 and pooped. So I changed her, fed her and put her down. She then pooped again, so I changed her again. This woke her up, and she started smiling and cooing. It was so cute you couldn't be upset with her for being wide awake at 1:30 in the morning.

Wind and the mohawk

Yesterday when we woke up, it was obvious it was going to be windy. (It was forecasted to be super windy for like 4 days.) When we woke up we found this.

 Thankfully the umbrella pole wasn't bent, it just came out of its stand. Emma wasn't sure about the wind.  Kind of took her breath away. The wind, however, had nothing to do with her hair. It dried funny after her bath, of course, and then she woke up like this. Nice mohawk.

Emma was pretty fussy the last two days. She even had Steven convinced she only cried when he held her....although it was obvious she wasn't herself. She apparently had an upset stomach...and I think we narrowed it down to the chili con queso I had at BWW. No more queso for Mommy. :(  She woke up this morning, had another giant poop and then seemed like her normal self...which was nice, since Steven played with her while I went back to sleep. Extra sleep plus donuts and burritos for breakfast...it's good to have him home. :)

Sleep

Emma slept great last night...we got a little over 7 hours...uninterrupted! This makes for a pretty happy mama.

Here are Emma and Daddy taking  a quick nap before dinner yesterday.

 This morning Emma woke up, ate, pooped and went back to sleep. Then she woke up, ate, fell asleep, woke up and pooped again. So after all that she woke up to stay, and so we played a little before Daddy got home. She is lifting her head up much better now. The first time she lifted her head up pretty good this morning she looked at me and smiled. :) Can't wait to bring her home so you all can see!

Chunky cheeks

We have been busy enjoying having Steven home. Today is his only day of work this week. :) This is what Emma is doing.

Look at those chunky cheeks!  Hopefully all these extra night feedings are helping her gain some weight. She hasn't been sleeping nearly as long as she used to...and gets up fairly often to eat. She goes right back to sleep after she eats, but I still miss those 6 straight hours she was giving me. I am going to get her some fleece pajamas today for her to sleep in to see if that will help. The doctor said not to put blankets on her when she sleeps and I wonder if she is getting cold. Just one of the many reasons I have come up with why she isn't sleeping as well.  (Obviously I let her have blankets for her naps since I am keeping an eye on her.)

Daddy's Home!

Emma got all dressed up last night to go pick up her daddy from the airport. She was a big hit with all the old ladies at the airport.

She didn't do anything special when she saw him...kind of like, 'hey dad. you're back. no big deal.' (Mostly she just stared at me.) I told her she must get her lack of excitement from her dad, who also doesn't get very excited much. Pepper, however, was VERY excited. :)

Here they are after church. Emma was tired and hungry and poor daddy doesn't have the hardware for that.
